Playing Forza Horizon 6 ahead of its intended release will result in severe consequences, according to a statement from developer Playground Games on social media. The Forza Horizon 6 development studio said that it would act against players caught accessing a leaked build of the highly-anticipated racing game.
The statement came just over a week after Playground Games announced that Forza Horizon 6 had gone gold. The anticipated Forza Horizon entry will allow players to drive throughout the streets of Tokyo and the Japanese countryside. In the lead up to the game’s May 19 launch, Forza Horizon 6 has revealed various features about the game, such as its soundtrack, the cars that players can drive, and the progression routes that players can take throughout the campaign mode.

Playground Games Threatens Hardware Bans To Anyone Playing Forza Horizon 6 Early
After a leaked build of Forza Horizon 6 was posted online, Playground Games issued an ultimatum to anyone caught playing the game ahead of its intended release window. Playground Games stated on Twitter it was aware of the leaked build and refuted claims that the leak was due to a preloading issue. Additionally, Playground Games said it would enforce harsh actions against anyone caught accessing the leaked build, including hardware bans and franchise-wide bans across the entire Forza series. Playground Games instead asked fans to wait for the game’s official May 19 launch rather than attempt to play the leaked build.

Just hours before Playground Games issued its warning to anyone who played Forza Horizon 6 early, reports stated that one such player was handed down a ban of nearly 8,000 years for modding the pirated Forza Horizon 6 build. However, it is unclear if the 8,000-year ban is legitimate, so the claim must be taken with a fine grain of salt. Given that the Forza series has a notorious history of banning anyone who uses mods, Forza Horizon 6 is no different in that regard. In short, the risks associated with playing Forza Horizon 6 ahead of the intended release date far outweigh any potential rewards gained from it.
Forza Horizon 6 Can Be Played Legitimately Before May 19
However, enthusiastic Forza Horizon 6 players need not wait until May 19 to play the game in advance. Users who purchase Forza Horizon 6 Premium Edition will gain up to four days of early access, starting Friday, May 15, along with other perks such as the Car Pass, two expansions, a VIP Membership, two car packs, and a welcome pack. However, Forza Horizon 6 Premium Edition will set users back $120, which is a $50 jump from Forza Horizon 6‘s standard $70 price tag. Additionally, users who preorder any version of Forza Horizon 6 can add the exclusive and pre-tuned Ferrari J50 to their virtual garages once the game arrives.
