Developer House House and publisher Panic (yes, those are real names) confirmed that their upcoming co-op adventure game will release day one on PS Plus in August. What’s even more surprising is the number of upcoming PS Plus games that have been confirmed for the service already, months ahead of time in some cases.
Prior to this latest confirmation, for example, the latest State of Play confirmed that Gitaroo Man, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams would come to the PS Plus Premium catalog in June, July, and August, respectively. It was also confirmed that Runescape: Dragonwilds would release day one on PS Plus Extra in September, with the latest PS Plus monthly game to be confirmed now arriving on August 4.

Big Walk is Coming to PS Plus Essential on August 4
House House and Panic confirmed Big Walk releases on Nintendo Switch 2 at the latest Nintendo Direct, alongside previously confirmed platforms like PC and PS5. It also confirmed its release date as August 4, which, as a previously announced day one PS Plus game, confirms it will join the PS Plus Essentials catalog. Fans can expect the games that join it to be announced on July 29, although fans will first need to see announcements for and receive the PS Plus Extra games for June 2026, PS Plus Essential games for July 2026, and PS Plus Extra games for July 2026. In other words, this announcement is months ahead when fans normally get weeks. Truthfully, the strategy likely has more to do with pushing PS Plus sales and the current lineup of PS5 games more than anything else.

Nonetheless, Big Walk should be a good addition to the co-op games available on PS Plus. It’s a friendslop game, similar to Peak with more of a Baby Steps vibe, where players must communicate, talk, and move through a world defined by puzzles, challenges, and discoveries. As they progress in the game, they’ll use a new assortment of tools and toys to solve newer and more challenging puzzles, all while exploring new and sometimes relaxing environments. “Spending time with friends is the best part of a big walk,” says the developer.
What’s not surprising is that Big Walk is the only PS Plus news to come out of the Nintendo Direct (even if Runescape: Dragonwilds appeared there, too), yet there was plenty of big news in the world of Nintendo. The first trailer for the Ocarina of Time remake is no doubt the biggest news, but fans also got new gameplay of Kingdom Hearts 4, a new Xenoblade game, a handful of new Switch 2 ports, confirmation of Pokemon Pokopia‘s DLC, and more.
The crossover is unusual, sure, but it’s worth noting that Big Walk will arrive on PS Plus and Nintendo Switch 2 on the same day, so it makes sense. Those with a PlayStation console will be able to pick it up at no additional cost, while other platforms (like the Switch 2) will need to pay its retail price, which is expected to be from $20-$40.
