The Game of Thrones franchise (or A Song of Ice and Fire) has only grown over the years, with House of the Dragon expanding the lore surrounding the Targaryens and their Dragons, and one iteration of the franchise is now adding a new dragon. Even with a few seasons under its belt now, House of the Dragon continues to keep its focus on the titular dragons. Though, with House of the Dragon Season 4 set for 2028, fans do have a wait on their hands for that version of the franchise.
Of course, it’s not like fans of the franchise are any strangers to waiting. The next Game of Thrones book, titled The Winds of Winter, still has no release date in sight and is planned to be the penultimate book in the series, with A Dream of Spring being the final book (if it ever releases). While the future of the book series is caught in a rut and the wider series on a break, one area of the franchise remains alive and well pretty much at all times: the mobile games.
Dragonfire Adding a New Dragon
Warner Bros. Games and HBO have announced that Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is getting a new dragon from House of the Dragon, specifically the Red Queen Meleys. The newest dragon to join the mobile strategy game, Meleys’ campaign debut is scheduled for September 24 at the standard update times.

The Red Queen Meleys is a Legendary Warrior dragon based on her on-screen appearance, featuring her distinctive scarlet scales and high speed. Her Scarlet Strike Command ability targets the enemy with the highest Initiative, allowing Meleys to deal heavy physical damage from the frontline, while players can also pledge themselves to her rider, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, as a faction leader during Game of Thrones: Dragonfire‘s third campaign.
The arrival of Meleys also comes alongside a new installment of Warner Bros. Games’ Dragonfire Chronicles developer diary (as seen above), which explores how the team recreates the dragons of House of the Dragon in Game of Thrones: Dragonfire. The development team worked with HBO’s original models while creating different dragon breeds, abilities, and visual identities, with the game’s art, narrative, and design teams collaborating on their implementation.

Lastly, it’s worth noting that players who have yet to complete House of the Dragon Season 3 can also still get additional rewards by linking their HBO Max and Warner Bros. Games accounts, with each episode providing a different in-game reward. Completing the entire season unlocks Caraxes, giving fans another way to bring the dragons featured throughout House of the Dragon into Game of Thrones: Dragonfire.
