- This is a change fans have long been asking for, and many are beginning to farm for the XP materials that will be necessary to max multiple five-star characters.
A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed that Version 5.0 could finally increase the character level limit. Developer HoYoverse keeps updating the pool of playable characters with every new update that arrives. Since Fontaine’s arrival, every update has included at least one new five-star character, with Arlecchino being the most recent addition.
Genshin Impact‘s major updates usually arrive in the second part of August and they always include a lot of new content, including a brand-new region. One of HoYoverse’s first story teasers released back in 2020 suggests that the next major region to arrive will be Natlan, the home of the Pyro Archon Murata, also known as the God of War.

Genshin Impact Leak Hints at Arlecchino Changes in 4.7
A new Genshin Impact leak reveals that Arlecchino could receive some changes in Version 4.7, regarding her energy particle generation.
Since the game was released, players have been asking for HoYoverse to increase the current level limit, which is 90. Fortunately, a new post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed that with the release of Version 5.0, the level limit may be increased to 100, indicating at least one additional world level. While most fans in the comment section praise HoYoverse for this change, others are worried that it will take a lot of ascension resources to increase their characters to this level. Some Travelers also pointed out that they need to start farming XP materials immediately considering the number of maxed-out five-star characters they have. A couple of players have proposed that HoYoverse should implement this level increase only for certain characters to make them viable in the current Genshin Impact meta.
Genshin Impact Version 5.0 Expectations
Genshin Impact‘s recent official announcement has confirmed that HoYoverse will raise the device performance requirements once the new Natlan region arrives in 5.0. Luckily for many players, the game will keep the same minimum requirements, but new optimization strategies could impact the visual quality of some in-game objects.
Recent Genshin Impact leaks have also revealed that Natlan will introduce a new mechanic that will buff Cryo and Hydro characters. However, this buff should only affect older characters with Hydro and Cryo Visions whose kits scale with ATK instead of HP, such as Mona, Ayaka, Ayato, and Shenhe.
When it comes to new playable characters, the only confirmed one is Natlan’s Pyro Archon Murata, who is yet to make an official in-game appearance. Even though Genshin Impact leaks usually accurately predict the game’s upcoming content, most information should still be taken with a grain of salt, considering that Version 5.0 won’t arrive for at least three months.
