Genshin Impact is redesigning many of the Domains in Mondstadt and Liyue, allowing players to have a more comfortable time grinding the talent books, weapon materials, and Artifact Sets of the two starting regions. While it didn’t take long for Genshin Impact to settle on an overall design philosophy when it comes to open-world design, combat difficulty, and team building, the early Domains and arguably 4-Star characters remain in stark contrast to their newer counterparts.
Bennett is largely considered to be one of the best 4-Star characters in Genshin Impact because he was released at a time when HoYoverse wasn’t yet sure how to properly balance 4-Star and 5-Star ability kits. Similarly, the Domains found in Liyue and Mondstadt adhere to an older design philosophy, where Genshin Impact expected players to build specialized teams to counter the Domains. As opposed to rewarding good team compositions, it punished players for not having the right characters, with the most blatant examples being the talent and weapon Domains in Mondstadt.

Genshin Impact Leak Teases New Wind Glider for Version 4.8
In addition to Trail Appearances, Genshin Impact is adding a new wind glider in Version 4.8, though its method of acquisition isn’t entirely clear.
According to HomDGCat, it would seem that HoYoverse has decided to nerf the early Mondstadt and Liyue Domains in Version 4.8. The only two Domains in Genshin Impact that were left unchanged are the Midsummer Courtyard in Mondstadt, and the Taishan Mansion in Liyue. Debuffs such as Engulfing Storm and Condensed Ice were removed entirely, while the enemy line-ups were either reduced in number, or changed into an easier combination. A notable example of the latter is Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern, whose line-up is now a single Ruin Guard as opposed to three Abyss Mages.

The changes should come as welcome news to many Genshin Impact fans, especially to new accounts who haven’t leveled their Mondstadt weapons and characters yet. However, the curious timing of this change could potentially imply that more Mondstadt characters may be on the horizon. The last 5-Star character from Mondstadt was Eula, who made her debut in Version 1.5. Furthermore, unlike the other regions of Teyvat, Mondstadt has no Dendro character on its national roster.
Ultimately, this can be seen as another win for players who were hoping that HoYoverse would make quality-of-life changes to Genshin Impact. Natlan is expected to introduce new combat mechanics, and with rumors that the level cap will increase to Level 100, there is a strong possibility that the easier Mondstadt and Liyue domains will come in handy, both for new and old Genshin Impact accounts.
