Faye will be channeling Lord of the Rings‘ Legolas in the new God of War. PlayStation has revealed a look at one of the new weapons she’ll have access to in God of War Laufey, called the Serpent Bow. She can use it to do all sorts of cool, deadly stuff, including shooting enemies with a barrage of gold light arrows at point-blank range.
New gameplay clips show the bow can be used for both ranged attacks that require precision aiming as well as for close-quarters brawling. Faye can combine roundhouse kicks and multi-shot volleys with the launch ability of Jack Quaid’s magic cube to juggle enemies in the air. The Serpent Bow has two fire modes—aimed and hip-fire—and can be combined with different arrow types, scale types, and armor perks to make powerful custom builds.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Santa Monica Studio also outlined all of the Pre-Order and Deluxe Edition bonuses players will have the option of buying. Pre-orders will become available starting at 10:00 a.m. on September 29. Here’s what you get for buying early:

And here’s what comes with the $80 Deluxe Edition:

None of this stuff sounds particularly crucial, though to each their own. I’ll be curious to see what ends up being in the “In-Game Resource Pack.” And contrary to what many commenters on the blog post were claiming, God of War Laufey will have a physical disc version on PS5. The pre-order and Deluxe Edition extras, however, will require a download, as they often do.
