Grounded 2 has received Patch 0.4.0.2, which brings a major change to spider webs and several bug fixes. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, Grounded 2 made its debut in early access on July 29, 2025, for Xbox Series X/S and PC players. The game is a sequel to the beloved 2022 original and transports players into the fresh setting of Brookhollow Park with new challenges. It has already proven to be a major success, topping the Steam charts and Xbox Game Pass player counts on multiple occasions.
Earlier in 2026, Obsidian pulled back the curtain on the Grounded 2 roadmap for 2026, offering fans a glimpse into the future of the game and how the team plans to deepen its survival and base-building aspects. Among the highlights were new enemies, fresh locations to explore, and a wealth of additional content for players to dive into. The studio has largely kept its promises with each update, but there have been a string of bugs and glitches that have soured the experience for some players. Obsidian Entertainment has been putting in work to fix these issues, and has now released another patch aimed at doing just that.
Grounded 2 Toxic Tangle Best Healer Build
Grounded 2 Toxic Tangle Update brought back one of the best Mutations from the original game. And here’s how to use it for the ultimate healer build.
Grounded 2 Patch 0.4.0.2 is Now Live
Obsidian Entertainment has rolled out Patch 0.4.0.2 for Grounded 2, which is now available for players to access across all platforms. The update targets spider webs, which will now completely despawn after 24 hours. This change has been made to help those who missed out on the spider web fix, which was introduced in the previous patch for the game.
The patch also contains a series of bug fixes, particularly focused on Buggies in Grounded 2. Issues that caused them to struggle when hitting nearby resources have now been resolved, along with a bug that made them permanently unavailable after a player’s death. It also addresses a crash that occurred when loading worlds, as well as a problem where players could lose progress after re-loading the same save. Obsidian Entertainment has also patched the issue where the Client wouldn’t have their Buggy assigned after relogging. Other fixes include problems with switching camera modes, quest-related glitches, and control issues. On top of that, various performance improvements and optimizations have also been added.
Patch 0.4.0.2 comes weeks after the Grounded 2 Beat the Heat update, which introduced King Dozer. This horned lizard is the biggest boss added to the game to date. The update also completely overhauled Buggies with a full-fledged progression system, alongside introducing new mutations and additional content. The community’s reception to the latest patch has been positive so far, with players over on Reddit and Twitter praising the developers for constantly improving the game and taking feedback to heart.
While fans are excited about the future of the game, they also want developers to tackle various issues in Grounded 2 before the full release. These include restrictive inventory limits despite having a backpack system, as well as occasional encounters with empty chests. Fans hope these concerns will be resolved in upcoming updates.
