One of the biggest games that PlayStation Plus subscribers can play as part of their membership is Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5. However, the game will reportedly get yanked from the service soon, just ahead of GTA 6’s release.
People on Reddit say they have received a notification telling them that GTA 5 will be removed for Extra and Premium subscribers on November 17. That is two days before GTA 6 launches on November 19, so the timing certainly suggests Sony and Rockstar are trying to migrate people to the new game.
The notice also includes a link directing people to the preorder page for GTA 6. “Whether you’ve yet to experience the tale of Franklin, Michael, and Trevor, or want to revisit it before Jason and Lucia’s Vice City story begins, now’s the time,” Sony’s notice said.
GTA 5 has rotated in and out of Xbox Game Pass over the years as well, and it is not currently available through the service.
GTA 6 launches on November 19, and the game’s steamy launch trailer just arrived. The trailer was stuffed with exciting new details, so be sure to read up on GameSpot’s 10 things we noticed from the GTA 6 launch trailer.
