Last week, Rockstar Games released a nearly 30-minute-long gameplay trailer of Grand Theft Auto 6, its highly anticipated open-world sequel launching in November. And thanks to that video, as well as the past two trailers, dedicated fans have spotted over 270 vehicles in GTA 6. That’s a lot. In fact, it’s more than any previous single-player GTA game in the franchise’s history. And GTA 6 isn’t even out yet, meaning there are likely more vehicles we don’t know about waiting in the full game.
Over on the GTA Base, a fan-created site dedicated to cataloging every part of the series, people have been meticulously combing through every GTA 6 screenshot and trailer released by Rockstar since 2023 and documenting every vehicle spotted so far. And with last week’s big Extended Look gameplay preview as well as leaks from Cyberleek, the list has exploded in size quickly.
According to GTA Base, as of September 1, fans have spotted and documented 272 vehicles in GTA 6. This includes cars, trucks, planes, motorcycles, scooters, boats, and more. And over 90 of them are new to the series, while the rest are returning from past GTA games, mostly GTA 5 and GTA 4.
To help give that 272 vehicles stat some context, here’s how many vehicles were featured in past GTA games, according to data from GTA Base:
- GTA 3: 56 vehicles
- GTA Vice City: 102 vehicles
- GTA San Andreas: 189 vehicles
- GTA 4 & DLC: 177 vehicles
- GTA 5 (at launch): 252 vehicles
Side note: It’s wild to me that GTA 3 has so few vehicles compared to other entries in the series. I remember playing that game as a kid and thinking it was the biggest, most sprawling thing I’d ever played.
Anyway, assuming the likely scenario that Rockstar hasn’t yet shown us every single vehicle available in GTA 6, it’s impressive that fans have already spotted more cars and planes in marketing materials for the upcoming game than exist in any past GTA game. Well, with one big exception.
You see, over the last decade, Rockstar has continued to update GTA Online via numerous free updates. And most of these updates have added new vehicles to the game. So GTA Online, as of 2026, now contains over 800 vehicles, though it should be noted that not all of GTA Online‘s vehicles are driving around the map or are even still available in-game. But yes, GTA 6 is still far behind GTA Online. And I’d be surprised if GTA 6 contains anywhere near 800 cars, boats, and motorcycles when it arrives in November.
But regardless of how many vehicles are available in GTA 6, I can guarantee you one thing: The franchise’s dedicated fanbase will catalog, document, and record every single one.
