Next Friday, August 7, is potentially going to be an important day for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6. It’s safe to say that Grand Theft Auto 6 is the most highly-anticipated video game release of all time. Hype for Rockstar’s open world game is virtually unprecedented, and that’s especially remarkable considering how little has been released for it so far.
Rockstar first publicly acknowledged GTA 6 back in February 2022, with the game’s first trailer not dropping until December 2023. GTA 6 Trailer 2 didn’t come until May 2025. Beyond the first two trailers and some screenshots, fans have otherwise been left in the dark. It’s been over a year since the last GTA 6 trailer and info dump, but it’s looking increasingly likely that the wait for more information is nearly at an end.
When is Take-Two’s Next Earnings Call?
Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive will have its next financial earnings report on the morning of Friday, August 7, before the market opens. Notably, Take-Two usually holds its earnings calls after the market closes, which has led to increased speculation that there could be some big news on GTA 6 next week. It’s possible this news will come on August 7, though it’s also quite likely that if there is GTA 6 news next week, it will actually come before August 7. As for what that news may be, that remains to be seen. The big thing that many fans want to see is GTA 6 Trailer 3, but it’s also entirely possible that Rockstar will go in a different direction. It’s also possible that there will be no news or GTA 6 trailers released next week at all, and so fans looking forward to the game should brace themselves for the possibility.
Who’s That Character?

Identify the silhouettes before time runs out.
While GTA 6 Trailer 3 is what many are looking forward to seeing, others may be done with the cinematic trailers and are more interested in seeing gameplay. If GTA 6 is anything like previous Rockstar Games titles, an extended gameplay presentation will likely drop before release that shows fans what they can expect from the single-player experience beyond just its story and characters. More information on the GTA 6 online multiplayer mode will likely come to light in the weeks and months ahead as well. With only two trailers released so far, there is definitely a lot left to be revealed when it comes to Grand Theft Auto 6.
It was previously claimed by Take-Two that GTA 6 marketing would ramp up this summer. With what was potentially GTA Online‘s last big update dropping earlier this month, it seems like the path is clear for Rockstar and Take-Two to 100% commit to GTA 6 marketing efforts. There have been false alarms before, but this, combined with the August 7 earnings call, makes it seem likely that an update of some description will come on August 7 or earlier.
One thing fans shouldn’t have to worry about is the GTA 6 release date getting delayed again. While anything could happen, we’re close enough to launch that the GTA 6 release date should be safe. More reassurance on that front should come during the August 7 earnings call, if nothing else. Fans will just have to wait and see what Take-Two has in store these next couple of weeks, and be sure to keep an eye on August 7 in the meantime.
