GTA 6 is getting its first official Black Friday deal through Best Buy, although there are a few requirements players should know about. Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated open-world game releases November 19, just eight days before Black Friday, so major discounts aren’t exactly expected. However, Best Buy has revealed two promotions that offer players something extra when purchasing GTA 6, including one aimed at those planning to buy a new console.

Of course, these GTA 6 promotions are coming directly from Best Buy, not Rockstar Games, and they’re specifically aimed at Best Buy members. Take-Two has previously stated it would not offer direct discounts on GTA 6 for Black Friday or the holidays. It could be several months, if not years, before GTA 6 receives a direct price cut. With that in mind, Best Buy’s offers may be among the better opportunities to get something back from purchasing the game at launch.

Best Buy is currently offering two Black Friday deals for GTA 6. The first gives My Best Buy members a $50 certificate when they pre-order the game and purchase an eligible PS5 or Xbox Series X/S console. Both purchases are required, and the certificate is issued after the orders are fulfilled, meaning it can’t be used toward either initial purchase. The second offer gives My Best Buy Plus and Total members 10% back in rewards when purchasing GTA 6, with the promotion available through November 18. Since the standard edition costs $79.99, that’s approximately $8 in rewards, which are expected to appear around 15 days after the order is fulfilled.

There are also a few important differences between the two GTA 6 deals. The $50 certificate offer is available to My Best Buy members purchasing an eligible console, while the 10% rewards promotion requires a paid Plus or Total membership. Best Buy also hasn’t clearly confirmed whether the offers can be combined, so players shouldn’t assume they’ll receive both benefits. For those already planning to upgrade from a PS4 or Xbox One, the $50 certificate is probably the more appealing offer. Meanwhile, existing PS5 and Xbox Series X|S owners may find the 10% rewards promotion to be something rather than nothing.

It’s also worth keeping in mind that GTA 6 is launching exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, making Best Buy’s console promotion particularly relevant. Anyone still using an older console will need to upgrade before playing Rockstar’s next open-world game. At the same time, PC users will want to make sure they have a console to play the game unless they intend to wait. Reports suggest that GTA 6 will launch on PC in early 2027, but the FOMO until then will be huge.

With GTA 6 pre-loads beginning November 10, the game launching November 19, and Black Friday falling on November 27, other retailers could announce similar promotions in the coming weeks. However, substantial discounts on Rockstar’s newest game seem unlikely so close to release.
