A Grand Theft Auto 6 insider with a well-known track record believes they have discovered that comedian Bobby Moynihan is voicing the character Cal Hampton. Because this is one of the biggest media releases ever, excitement for Grand Theft Auto 6 is growing every day as the launch window closes in.
It has been over twelve years since the release of Rockstar Games’ last crime epic, and Grand Theft Auto 5 is still one of the most played titles in the world today. The developer is famous for spending a huge amount of time, sometimes ten years or more, working in total secrecy to make sure its worlds feel alive and full of detail. According to Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar is always striving for perfection, which explains why it has moved the release date of GTA 6 multiple times to get the polish exactly right.
GTA 6 Isn’t the Only Game Rockstar Is Working On
While many fans have assumed that Rockstar’s top priority is Grand Theft Auto 6, new information suggests the studio is also developing other titles.
Uncovering the Voice Behind GTA 6’s Cal Hampton
The newest rumor regarding the cast comes from an insider named GameRoll, who recently made a very strong case for who is playing Cal Hampton. GameRoll is about “95% sure” that the part belongs to Moynihan, who spent nearly a decade on Saturday Night Live. There are several reasons for this theory, including that Moynihan’s voice sounds exactly like the character’s and that he has a physical resemblance to him. Moynihan also has plenty of experience with motion capture and follows other actors, such as Dylan Rourke, who are already linked to the game. Moynihan has been very active lately, working on big projects like Disney films and adult animated shows like Star Trek: Lower Decks.
While the cast is a major mystery, even more information has leaked regarding how the game will actually play. A massive list of potential features from GTA 6 was shared online, suggesting the new title will borrow several popular ideas from Red Dead Redemption 2. Players might see a similar relationship system, as well as mechanics for character weight and the return of the classic 6-star wanted level. Other leaked details mention the ability to walk through shopping malls and huge skyscrapers, with over 700 different shops expected to be available throughout the game world.
The game’s setting, a state called Leonida, is designed to be a modern-day version of the Florida landscape. Players will return to the famous neon streets of Vice City in GTA 6, but they will also explore new areas like the Leonida Keys, the wilderness of Mount Kalaga National Park, and the swampy Grassrivers. The story itself is rumored to be split into five different chapters, similar to how RDR2 was structured, and will follow two main characters named Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval. Lucia is a woman from Liberty City who is trying to start over after a stint in prison, while Jason is a grifter who has spent his life around criminals.
There is also plenty of discussion about how much time players will actually spend in GTA 6’s story mode. Some fans are hoping for a main plot that lasts at least 50 hours, while others want something much longer to justify the 13-year wait. If the game is anything like the studio’s previous Western epic, finishing everything 100% could take as long as 200 hours. It is a difficult balance for the developers, who have to meet the massive expectations of millions of people who have been waiting over a decade for a fresh story.

Even though the wait has been long, the official launch for GTA 6 is currently set for November 19. The game is only coming to the newest consoles, meaning those on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will be the first to play, while PC players will likely have to wait a long time for a port. As for the price, some experts are predicting it could cost as much as $100 because the development budget is so high, though nothing has been confirmed yet. Interestingly, Rockstar isn’t the only studio dealing with information leaks; even vehicular combat games like War Thunder have a history of users sharing “sensitive documents” on public forums.
