Dataminers have found evidence of Grand Theft Auto 6 merchandise that Rockstar Games plans to release, along with something that could very well be a Collector’s Edition for the highly-anticipated new game. Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to be one of the biggest new video game releases of all time when it launches on November 19. Despite the incredible hype behind the game, no proper Collector’s Edition for GTA 6 has been revealed at the time of this writing.
Grand Theft Auto 6 does not have a Collector’s Edition announced yet, but the game does have an Ultimate Edition. Retailing for $99.99, the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition includes exclusive access to various in-game locations, with certain stores only accessible to those that shell out the cash for the Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate Edition has proven controversial, but there are still those willing to buy it and others who would pay even more for a proper Collector’s Edition. While nothing to that effect has been officially announced just yet, a recent leak suggests that something along those lines could be on the way.
GTA 6: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection Leaked
Dataminers have dug through the Rockstar Games website and found the company’s plans for GTA 6 merch. If the leaks are accurate, fans can expect all kinds of Grand Theft Auto 6 clothing items, plus zippos, money clips, tote bags, keychains, sticker packs, bumper stickers, a basketball, a football, and a lunch bag. The most interesting item spotted in the leak, though, is the GTA 6: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection. It’s possible that this is a collection of some of the other leaked items, but some have speculated that it will be the name attached to the GTA 6 Collector’s Edition. Fans should keep their expectations in check, of course. The leak didn’t provide any specifics as to what’s in the collection, beyond that it could weigh about 24 pounds.
If Rockstar does move forward with a GTA 6 Collector’s Edition, there’s likely to be some controversy surrounding it. Even though GTA 6 is technically getting a “physical” release, all fans are getting is a box with a code inside. GTA 6 is not getting a disc release, which is a decision that has proven to be wildly controversial ever since it was first announced. The Collector’s Edition, if one materializes, will no doubt cost a premium, and yet it too will come without any kind of actual disc for GTA 6.
Some are still holding out hope that Rockstar may eventually release GTA 6 on a physical disc, but fans shouldn’t hold their breath. Sony has announced the end of physical disc production starting January 2028, and it doesn’t look like it’s budging from that decision. While there would still be time between now and PlayStation ending disc production, it seems unlikely that Rockstar will change its mind about releasing GTA 6 on a disc.
Even though the lack of a physical disc for GTA 6 is controversial, the game is still likely to be named the best-selling game of the year by the time it’s all said and done. Grand Theft Auto 6 is one of the most highly-anticipated games of all time and is sure to break records, whether it gets a Collector’s Edition or not.
