Gamers that have yet to pre-order Grand Theft Auto 6 now have an extra incentive to do so from Walmart. Grand Theft Auto 6 is gearing up to potentially be the biggest new game release of all time, and so it’s no surprise that many have already secured their pre-orders. After all, GTA 6 has some interesting pre-orders available, with players able to get their hands on the Vintage Vice City Pack. Digital pre-orders are also treated to a free month of the GTA+ subscription service.
There haven’t really been any announcements about retailer-specific GTA 6 pre-order bonuses at the time of this writing. The GTA 6 physical release is just a code in a box, with no physical disc at all, and that might be playing a role. Whatever the case may be, it’s been leaked that Walmart will actually be providing a special bonus to at least some customers that have pre-ordered Grand Theft Auto 6 from the giant retailer.
According to leaked documentation, GTA 6 pre-orders from Walmart will come with a bonus “surprise” for customers. It’s unclear what exactly that surprise may be, but a previous surprise Walmart pre-order bonus surprise may give us clues. As some may recall, Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders from Walmart came with extra goodies, like chips and Coca-Cola. It’s possible that the GTA 6 surprise bonus is an exact repeat of the extras that Walmart gave away for the Switch 2, but that remains to be seen. We’ll find out for sure when GTA 6 launches on Thursday, November 19.
We are in the endgame now when it comes to the GTA 6 release date. There were still some fears that the massive, highly-ambitious open world game would suffer yet another release date delay, but that now seems extremely unlikely. Grand Theft Auto 6 fans should be able to safely plan for the November 19 launch. It’s expected that there will be a record number of people calling out of work that day, with some estimates suggesting that the release could potentially cost the US economy billions in lost labor.
Hopefully Grand Theft Auto 6 is worth it. The hype for GTA 6 is unprecedented, but Rockstar’s track record speaks for itself. Rockstar has consistently released some of the highest-rated games ever made, and every main series GTA since GTA 3 has earned higher than 90 on Metacritic. Rockstar’s two most recent games, GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, have even cracked the top 10 highest-rated games of all time, so it will be exciting to see where GTA 6 lands.
In any case, those that are already sold on the game but have yet to pre-order may want to consider doing so from Walmart. GTA 6 “physical” copies are expected to arrive on November 12 or thereabouts. GTA 6 pre-loading starts on November 10, so fans should have plenty of time to download the game before its November 19 launch.
