GTA 6’s Map Is Still Hiding One of Its Most Obvious Florida Parodies

Grand Theft Auto 6 is inching closer to its launch date, and gamers are ready to dive into the game’s Florida-inspired state of Leonida and explore every single corner. Leonida and its various cities and towns have been one of the main subjects when it comes to Grand Theft Auto 6 discourse, with the current list of confirmed locations already looking incredibly promising. From Vice City to Mount Kalaga National Park, GTA 6‘s world teases a fun blend of urban and rural locations, but there is one key Florida staple that is currently missing from the map: Disney World.

Rockstar has revealed plenty of exciting features to expect when exploring GTA 6‘s map, but the absence of a Disney World parody theme park is hard to ignore, especially this close to launch. Disney World is one of the biggest reasons that people from all over the world come to Florida for vacation, and it’s the perfect setting for Rockstar to really let loose with GTA‘s special brand of satire. There is still time between now and November 19 for Rockstar to unveil a Disney-inspired theme park, but the devs might also be saving it as a big surprise for players to find on their own.

Rockstar Games Officially Teases GTA 6 Soundtrack With Some Big-Name Artists

Some huge artists are seemingly confirmed for GTA 6’s soundtrack after a new reveal from Rockstar Games.

If Rockstar Wants GTA 6’s Leonida to Feel Like an Authentic Florida Experience, Then the Map Needs to Have a Disney World Parody Park

For years, there have been GTA 6 leaks claiming to have insight into what the game has to offer. As intriguing as leaks can be, they should always be taken with a huge grain of salt. There have indeed been several GTA 6 leaks in the past claiming that a Disney World-inspired theme park is featured in the game, but Rockstar has yet to make that official.

Beyond the leaks, though, there are other factors that make a GTA 6 theme park feel like a given. The GTA games have been parodying Disney in small ways for years at this point. It would be incredibly bizarre if Rockstar left out Disney’s influence on Florida when the developer is trying to make Leonida a deeply realistic recreation of the state.

GTA: Vice City and GTA 5 Have Already Planted the Disney Parody Seed

  • GTA: Vice City features advertisements for Fun World.
  • GTA 5 introduced Walt Disney Pictures parody Fred’s Pictures.

Advertisements for Fun World can be found around Escobar International Airport in GTA: Vice City, and the font and castle image used in these ads make it blatantly obvious that Rockstar is poking fun at Disney World. So, the park definitely already exists in GTA canon, but the question that has yet to be answered is whether GTA 6 will deliver on this concept or not. GTA 6 could simply write Fun World out of this new version of Vice City by claiming that the park was shut down due to too many roller coaster accidents.

A Fred’s Pictures poster can be seen in GTA 6‘s extended trailer, which could be a hint that the theme park will be featured.

Even if the past leaks were accurate about a satirical Disney World, there is always the chance that Rockstar scrapped the concept. Digging too hard into Disney is a risky move, but Rockstar hasn’t shied away from being controversial. GTA‘s pop culture parodies are an essential piece of the franchise, so a theme park meant to represent Disney World and the devoted fan culture it has given rise to is an obvious road for Rockstar to travel down.

GTA 6’s Map Could Still Have Plenty of Surprises in Store for Players

This is purely speculation on my part, but it’s possible that Rockstar has only revealed a small piece of the larger GTA 6 map puzzle. It has already been established that GTA 6‘s map size is huge, so it’s not too outlandish to think that there are areas hiding throughout Leonida that haven’t been confirmed yet. The map is made up of six main regions, and even if these are the only key locations, each area sounds like a unique experience.

This Is Every Confirmed GTA 6 Map Location

  • Vice City – The GTA franchise’s iconic city inspired by Miami, complete with plenty of beaches and nightlife.
  • Leonida Keys – A region inspired by the Florida Keys that’s perfect for fishing and swimming.
  • Grassrivers – An Everglades-inspired area that has already been confirmed as a perfect airboating spot and probably has plenty of alligators Jason and Lucia need to watch out for.
  • Port Gellhorn – This area was once a huge tourist attraction, but its tourist economy has since collapsed, and what remains is a run-down industrial town.
  • Ambrosia – One of the more rural sections of GTA 6‘s map that is characterized by its small towns and farms.
  • Mount Kalaga National Forest – This national park features the opposite of Vice City’s beaches and nightlife and offers beautiful rivers, rocky canyons, and lush forests.

The confirmed GTA 6 locations have plenty to offer, but a parody theme park would be the icing on the cake. GTA 6 can manage to be a fantastic game without featuring a Disney World-like area. Its absence would definitely be felt, though. Leaving out theme parks would be a mistake, and as the game’s release date draws closer, I’m getting more and more curious to see if Rockstar has finally brought forth the Disney World parody that has been teased for so long.

All that can be done right now is to sit and wait to see what surprises GTA 6‘s Vice City and the rest of Leonida have hidden within the map. After GTA 6‘s gameplay preview that premiered on Netflix, I wouldn’t be surprised if Rockstar held back from revealing any more details. What Rockstar showcased in that 27-minute preview spoke volumes, so more footage isn’t really necessary.

It’s good to be surprised, anyway. As much as I want confirmation about a Disney World parody park, I also want most of GTA 6 gameplay and exploration to feel unexpected. I’ve waited this long for GTA 6 to get here, so I can wait a few more months to find out if Fun World is coming back in full force.
