Like its predecessor, so much of what makes Hades 2 incredible can be found in the amazing design of the items used by the main character. Zagreus had the Infernal Arms, and now Melinoë has the Nocturnal Arms. Melinoë, however, has a group of items that Zag never did: the Gathering Tools. These items together make up Melinoë’s incredible arsenal in Hades 2.

How to Unlock the Nocturnal Arms in Hades 2
There are five weapons that make up the Nocturnal Arms in Hades 2. Players will not have access to all of them at first, but will have the opportunity to unlock them as they complete runs and follow the main story. Head to the Silver Pool (the area where the Nocturnal Arms are located) in the Training Grounds. When a new weapon or tool can be unlocked, you will see the special spiked exclamation mark symbol hovering above.
The best way to reveal all Nocturnal Arms at the Silver Pool, is to simply play through the main story. Speak to every character, give Nectar, visit Chaos – do everything you can. Moving the story forward is the only way to make new weapons available to unlock. Keep in mind that the
Argent Skull
will not be available until slightly later in the main story. Unlock the first three and keep progressing, it will be revealed eventually.

How to Upgrade the Nocturnal Arms:
Once each weapon is unlocked, players will eventually reveal the Nocturnal Arms’ hidden Aspects. These are special variations of each weapon, each with its own unique skills. When this happens, each base version of the Nocturnal Arms will be revealed as the Aspect of Melinoë. Each Aspect can then be upgraded, with each new rank improving the weapon’s stats.
Currently, there are four Gathering Tools in Hades 2. Each of the tools allows Melinoë to collect a different crafting and upgrade material or incantation ingredient. Choosing which tool to bring on each run is one of the important decisions the player must make before heading out. Craft and select Gathering Tools at the Silver Pool in the Training Grounds.
