Hades 2 is making the leap to PlayStation and Xbox consoles in April, and also joining the latter’s Game Pass subscription service. The game was previously only available on Switch, Switch 2, and PC.
On March 26, during today’s Xbox Partner Preview event, Supergiant Games revealed Hades 2 is coming to PS5, Xbox Game Pass, and Xbox Series X/S on April 14. That’s about seven months after it launched on the Switch and Switch 2 back in September 2025. Here’s the newly released trailer announcing the PS5 and Xbox port of the roguelike action game starring Melinoë, Princess of the Underworld.
Hades 2 launched in early access on PC back in 2024. It’s a follow-up to 2020’s Hades, expanding on that game’s fast-paced, roguelike structure with new characters and more options for how to progress and eventually take down the big bad, Chronos, the titan of time. Hades 2 is also Supergiant’s first sequel. Since its release, it’s been well-received by critics and has sold well on Switch and PC. Now, it’s finally making the leap to more platforms.
It is interesting to note that Hades 2 is skipping PS4 and Xbox One. The sequel is available on both Nintendo Switch 2 and its far weaker predecessor, the OG Switch. It seems like Hades 2 could run just fine on Xbox One or PS4 if it’s playable on Nintendo’s aging console. But Hades 2 is skipping those older machines. Hmm. We’ve pinged Supergiant to inquire about this decision, and will update this post if we hear back.
Hades 2 is out now on Switch, Switch 2, and PC. It will be available on April 14 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as well as Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Streaming.
