Helldivers 2 has a habit of leaving it up to the players to figure out how to complete their mission objectives. While most of them are fairly straightforward, some objectives such as activating the E-710 pumps can be a bit puzzling for new divers. This is a Terminid-exclusive mission in Helldivers 2 that requires players to reactivate pumping sites that have ceased extraction of precious E-710 resources.
E-710 — or Element 710 — is a fossil fuel produced by decomposing bugs and insects. It is also “OIL” when read upside down, which Super Earth needs to fuel its invasions to win the galactic war. This is also another reason why players need to control supply lines in Helldivers 2. The E-710 flow must not stop!

How To Activate E-710 Pumps In Helldivers 2
The E-710 mission is mainly split into two parts: redirecting the flow by moving the pipes and turning on all the valves to collect the fuel. The former is a mini-puzzle that might prove challenging, especially if your team is engaging a Terminid swarm.
Step 1: Reach The E-710 Pump Site & Activate The Terminal
The E-710 mission location will always be marked with a droplet icon on the map. You do not need to discover it as a point of interest. Head to the mission site to find large oil extraction rigs, a network of pipelines, and buildings. Do not be overwhelmed, though. Start by activating the terminal by inputting a seven-direction code, just like with other missions in Helldivers 2.
Step 2: Move The Pipes To Solve The Flow Puzzle
The next step is connecting the pipes shown on-screen to “redirect the E-710 pumps” from the Outflow to the Transfer Station. Use the directional keys to choose and change each pipe until the yellow (highlighted) path is complete.
This mini-puzzle is where most players tend to get stuck because they often move the pipes to create the shortest route. The trick is to change the pipes in a way that might appear incorrect, but the following section will contain a pipe that connects both ends.
For example, a pipe that leads the flow upwards instead of the right might appear as a bad choice, but it can be connected with a curved s-shaped pipe that redirects the flow back down to the Transfer Station.
Step 3: Turn All The Valves
Once the flow has been redirected, find and release three fuel valves around the E-710 mission site in Helldivers 2. The on-screen prompt will show their names (1A, 2B, and 2C for example) and whether they are open or not. In some cases, the site might contain more than three valves. Noting their names saves time, since the other valves can be ignored.
Once players find a fuel valve, interact with it and hold down the right directional button to rotate the valve counterclockwise twice. Some valves, however, might be covered in a strange Terminid growth. These valves cannot be interacted with until the growth is removed with a few shots from any weapon (or a single shot from your trusty Autocannon). You do not need to use explosives here.
Keeping track of all opened valves can be a bit confusing when

in co-op
. Remember that opened valves can be accidentally closed. Here are a few ways to know which valve has already been opened:
– Valves release a beeping sound until they are turned on.
– Valves have a red light by default that turns yellow once they are opened.
Once all three fuel valves have been turned on, return to the main terminal to reactivate the E-710 pumps. That will complete the mission and reward players with some Requisition Slips and Experience to spend on unlocking new titles and upgrades in Helldivers 2.

How To Transfer E-710 To Shuttle In Helldivers 2
Depending on how the galactic war is progressing in Helldivers 2, players might get an extra sub-objective on higher-difficulty missions that require them to transfer essential E-710 to a shuttle. In this case, the mission remains the same as detailed before except that players now also need to attach fuel hoses to the shuttle to complete the transfer.
Follow through the mission and wait for the shuttle to arrive. Then, interact with the valves to release the fuel hoses. Attach them to the shuttle and defend them from Terminid breaches. Once the shuttle has collected all the fuel, follow the prompts to detach the hoses to enable E-710 extraction in Helldivers 2.
