Some people say that love can be bittersweet, and in Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, developer Saber Interactive is looking to show players just how twisted romance can really be. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the studio has dropped a new trailer for the upcoming first-person survival-horror game, revealing more about its story and gameplay, and even offering a brief tour of the eternal realm of torment the Cenobites call home. There’s also some NSFW content here, so consider yourselves warned.
Described as a new chapter in the cult-classic horror series, Hellraiser: Revival will see players explore the depths of the underworld as Aiden, who must use the power of the Genesis Configuration puzzle box to rescue his girlfriend, Sunny, from the Labyrinth. This dark domain is full of depraved Cenobites, and if dealing with them isn’t bad enough, players will also have to be mindful of Pinhead–voiced by his original actor Doug Bradley–as he manipulates them from the shadows.
The trailer even shows a few more classic Cenobites who accompanied Pinhead in the movies, like the disturbing Chatterer and the Female Cenobite who has a mutilated larynx.
The studio has said that it wants to earn its M rating, and judging by the gameplay in the video above, there’s no shortage of blood, sadomasochistic Cenobites, and disturbing imagery. “We’re trying to portray all the gore and horror that is present in the films, violence, sexuality, everything,” associate game director Aleksandra Pelivanović said to GameSpot. “It was really important for us to catch every key element of the franchise and put it in the game in the right context. And when we sent Clive the final draft for the storyline, he was like, ‘Yes, that’s Hellraiser!'”
Hellraiser: Revival was officially revealed in July 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and Saber Interactive plans to launch the game later this year. If that sounds like a good time, then you can also check our list of all the upcoming horror games on the way in 2026 and beyond.
