Highguard Patch Gives Players What They Really Wanted From The Start

Highguard Patch Gives Players What They Really Wanted From The Start

Highguard players have shared their desire for expanded match-ups, and the game’s developer, Wildlight, has listened. Starting today and going through the weekend, Highguard is introducing an “experimental” five-on-five Raid playlist. This isn’t meant as a replacement for the game’s three-on-three Raids, but it could potentially become a full-time part of the game.

Per Wildlight’s announcement, the 5v5 Raids will have 10 lives to players instead of the standard six. It will also take slightly longer to respawn during raids in order to allow more time for generator bombs to be planted or defused. Wildlight cautions players that while the current patch has some optimization improvements, 5v5 Raids aren’t going to have improved performance.

The dev team also notes that Firing Range doesn’t support 5v5 yet, which is why the Play button will be grayed out when parties are over three.

The latest update introduces Soul Well, a new base that is described as “a dark relic from a lost age.”

“The Iron Vigil has now prepared this base construct for use in the field where the dead still speak,” the game’s description of the base reads. It will be available in all modes.

While PC users already had the ability to toggle Anisotropic materials, console users now have it as well. Additionally, a motion blur toggle has been added for PC and consoles.

Highguard design lead Mohammad Alavi recently stated that Wildlight won’t repeat the mistakes of Apex Legends. The game already has a content calendar for 2026 with plans for frequent updates in the weeks and months ahead.
