A new Honkai: Star Rail leak has revealed more information about one of the upcoming characters, the leader of the Oak Family, known as Sunday. He has already made multiple in-game appearances, which led many players to wonder if and when he would become part of the playable roster.
Since its release in April 2023, Honkai: Star Rail has been introducing new characters to its playable roster with every update. The ongoing Version 2.2 has added two five-star characters: Robin in the first banner phase, and Boothill in the ongoing second part of the update.

At the moment, Sunday is an NPC who made his debut in Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.6. As the organizer of the Charmony Festival and the leader of the Oak Family, Sunday presents himself as a powerful and dignified character. However, the official storyline has been hinting that under this facade lies a cunning personality. Currently, Sunday is best known as Robin’s older brother, and one of her voice lines confirms that he used to be her main protector. One of the most credible leakers in the Honkai: Star Rail community, who goes by the name hxg_diluc on X, has revealed more details about Sunday. According to the leaker, Sunday’s official in-game model will feature a darker theme instead of the white attire he was introduced with.
The new leak could mean that Trailblazers will finally get to explore Sunday’s true identity and intentions before he officially joins the live servers. Honkai: Star Rail‘s recently introduced five-star Robin has also revealed that she and her brother have chosen different paths, and he was even featured as a boss fight in Version 2.2. Currently, there is no official information or credible leaks about Sunday’s official release date.
Honkai: Star Rail – Sunday’s Release Date
The only confirmed detail about Sunday’s release is that he won’t be featured on a banner in the upcoming Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.3, as HoYoverse has already announced the arrival of Firefly and Jade for this update. Firefly is expected to be featured in the first part of the update, which should drop around June 18, according to the game’s usual update schedule.
Jade should be featured in the second banner phase, which could arrive around July 10. The official splash arts confirmed that both characters have a five-star rarity. So far, HoYoverse has not announced any new four-star characters for this update. According to recent beta leaks, Jade will be a new sub-DPS unit, while Firefly is expected to fill the main DPS role in most Honkai: Star Rail team compositions.
