Fortnite: How to Change Your Display Name

If players are looking for a name change in Fortnite, then this simple guide will help players change their usernames permanently.

The community immediately voiced its opinion regarding the headshot sound when Epic Games changed it. Many weren’t happy and mentioned how they would like to get back the original headshot sound, so the developers added an option that made it possible for them to select their preferred headshot sound. This guide shows players how they can pick the headshot sound in Fortnite.

How to Change the Headshot Sound in Fortnite

When players hit a headshot in Fortnite, it means that they’ve managed to hit their opponent for critical damage. To make sure that players know they’ve dealt extra damage, the hitmark numbers are yellow rather than white, and the bullet makes a different sound upon hitting the enemy.

Epic Games changed the Fortnite headshot sound when Chapter 7 launched, and many players weren’t fans. To change the current headshot in Fortnite, players have to open the Settings menu in-game and then select the Audio tab. Here, they must scroll to Sound and change the Hitmarkers setting from Default to Legacy. This will set it to the original headshot sound that so many players have grown to love over the years.

For players who are curious to see the difference between the Default and the Legacy hitmarkers, the video below demonstrates the two:
