How To Get The True Ending

Resident Evil Requiem has multiple endings, but you won’t have to play through the full game multiple times to see each of them, including the one that is the “true” conclusion to Grace and Leon’s story. We’ll keep descriptions vague, but we’re obviously going to be talking spoilers, so if you don’t want any hints or clues as to how the game wraps up, begone.

Alright, now that it’s just you and me, at the climax of Requiem, Grace is forced to make a decision between destroying or releasing something called Elpis. The choice is binary and not influenced by anything else you’ve done in the game up to that point, but what you choose to do will lead to one of two conclusions. Though both will bring you to the game’s credits, releasing Elpis is the intended “canon” path. You’ll be allowed to reload your save and try both choices, and you’ll notice a stark difference between the two when you do. Also, be sure to stick around after the credits when you make this decision, as you’ll get an extra scene that seems to hint at the future of Resident Evil.

Once you finish the game, you’ll unlock New Game+, which lets you access Leon’s arsenal much earlier in a playthrough and wreck shop with a shotgun from the beginning.

So now you know what you have to do. If you came across this article after a Google search in a moment of decision paralysis, thanks for reading! You wanna read our review before you leave? You’re already at the end of the game so you probably don’t need to see our general tips post at this stage.
