How to Wake Up Mosslax in Pokopia (Brighten Things Up Quest Guide)

When players reach Bleak Beach in Pokopia, they will discover new Pokemon, Habitats, and resources. They will also take on Important Requests to restore the area and find out what happened to the humans. Brighten Things Up is one of the main quests in Pokopia where players must help a moss-covered Snorlax “Mosslax” wake from a deep slumber. The only way to do this is to restore electricity on Bleak Beach and make the environment brighter using fire, lights, and a few special Pokemon.

How to Get a Bulldoze Pokemon for Bleak Beach in Pokopia

Players who want to add a Pokemon with the Bulldoze speciality to Pokemon Pokopia’s Bleak Beach area can find help in this guide.

After players increase their Trainer Rank in Pokopia, they will unlock Area Gates that lead to more areas. Bleak Beach is one of the first places players can visit after they reach Great rank. When they get there, it is rundown and incredibly gloomy due to intense cloud coverage.

Eventually, Trubbish will ask players to find the source of mysterious noises coming from a mountain. When players get inside the mountain, they’ll find Mosslax sleeping inside a dark cave area. From there, Professor Tangrowth gives them the Important Request to Brighten Things Up to help the Mosslax wake up.

There are a few things players can do to set themselves up for success during the quest. There are Utility Poles and lamppost all around Bleak Beach, but they don’t have power running to them. To fix this, find the Wood Furnace in the southwest corner of Bleak Beach and fill it with about 30+ logs. Then, place Utility Poles around the island to use the electricity for longer distances. The top of the poles will light up yellow when they are on and placing them near a lamppost close enough for the yellow dotted line to appear will power them up. Do this all around Bleak Beach to make progress in the quest.

Meowth will ask players to power the lights around the harbor and the task will be automatically completed if they’ve lit enough of the lights. Return to Mosslax with Tangrowth to trigger a cutscene where flowers will bloom on Mosslax’s head. Tangrowth states they must increase the Bloom Points from 80 to 100.

All Main Story Missions in Pokemon Pokopia (Requests List)

Pokemon Pokopia’s main story is made up of ten important requests. Here’s where you can find every mission and how to complete the final one.

How to Increase Bloom Points in Pokopia

Players can increase Bloom Points by adding more lights and completing requests for other Pokemon in Bleak Beach including the following:

  • Make a Resort Meal Prep Habitat with Torchic — players will need a small stool, a plate with a Leppa Berry, a Palm Tree, and a Fire.
  • Make a Tropical Seaside Habitat with Piplup to learn Swim from Lapras — find the palm tree next to the ocean and place four bushes next to it. Players can pick up bushes using Dig.
  • Discover Peakychu, a pale Pikachu who can no longer harness electricity — Peakychu will be on a flower bed surrounded by the other Pokemon.
  • Craft a Shell Lamp using Sea Glass Shards and Seashells for Peakychu — both ingredients can be found scattered around Bleak Beach.
  • Restore an Overgrowth Vending Machine Habitat for Mareep — use Leafage to grow yellow grass next to a vending machine. Place a Utility Pole near it to power the vending machine.
  • Investigate the Lighthouse for Trubbish — players can have an Electric-type Pokemon follow them to help power the Spotlights at the top of the lighthouse.
  • Visit the Furnace with Torchic — the task will automatically complete if players have placed wood in it already.
  • Visit the Windmill with Peakychu — found in the southern area of Bleak Beach.

How to Power the Charging Station for Peakychu in Pokopia

Pokopia (38)

One of the final tasks to brighten the area is to find the Charging Station with Peakychu. Towards the center of Bleak Beach, players will see a white platform with five circles on it. To get power to it, players must place a Utility Pole near it as well as three Windmills.

Windmills can be built or moved using a Relocation Kit purchased from the PC Shop.

Once all the circles on the Charging Station are lit up yellow, it will trigger a cutscene revealing a legendary Pokemon and Mosslax waking up. Players will also reach Trainer Rank Ultra when they complete the Important Request.
