A new leak from a reliable LEGO insider suggests that the Daily Planet could finally become a full-fledged building set in 2027. The rumored release is said to be a massive brick-built model that would further expand LEGO’s DC lineup next summer.
That timing would put the rumored set on the store shelves alongside one of DC Studios’ biggest releases of the year, as James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow, the follow-up to 2025’s Superman, is scheduled to open on July 9, 2027. As with most major superhero films, the upcoming film has long been rumored to receive a range of tie-in LEGO sets.
Rumored LEGO Daily Planet Set Reportedly Has Nearly 3,000 Pieces
The rumored set was most recently detailed in a late October 2026 Brick Tap report, which claims it will carry product number 67011 and contain 2,981 pieces. Simply called The Daily Planet, the model is expected to launch in July 2027 at a price of around $299.99. The report describes the set as a modular building based on the comics, with a minifigure selection drawing inspiration from several DCU films. The source separately cautions that the reported price remains particularly uncertain, which is common with leaks concerning unannounced sets still roughly a year detached from release. At nearly 3,000 pieces, 67011 would fall well short of some of the biggest LEGO sets rumored for 2027, but it would nonetheless rank among the largest licensed superhero builds the Danish toymaker is expected to release next year.

67011’s rumored LEGO minifigure lineup includes separate figures for Superman and Clark Kent, along with Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and Hawkgirl. Finally, the 2,981-piece set is rumored to feature minifigures of Brainiac, Lex Luthor, and one mystery character. Several of those names, including Superman, Lois, Jimmy, Hawkgirl, Guy Gardner, Mister Terrific, Lex, and Brainiac, are also confirmed to be making an appearance in Man of Tomorrow, strengthening the apparent connection between the movie and the unannounced set.

Supergirl is already established in the same DCU but is not expected to appear in the 2027 film, suggesting that 67011 will draw inspiration from multiple movies rather than just one. Alternatively, this would be far from the first time a LEGO set leak spoiled the roster of an upcoming superhero film, with another such case occurring less than six months ago with Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
LEGO Has Referenced the Daily Planet Before, But Never Like This
The Daily Planet has appeared in LEGO form before, but only in much smaller or indirect ways. The 19-piece 2014 DUPLO set 10543 Superman Rescue included a tiny Daily Planet office that would barely read as the location without its Daily Planet decoration. In 2020, the DC Collectible Minifigures version of Superman came with an exclusive printed Daily Planet newspaper tile headlined “Caped Wonder Stuns City,” while 2025’s 76300 Arkham Asylum included a “Visit Metropolis” image depicting the iconic building.
