Nintendo’s latest financial report highlights some of the upcoming Switch 2 games that are on the way for 2026 and beyond. Nintendo’s Switch 2 has enjoyed a great deal of success since its launch last June, selling nearly 20 million units and outpacing its predecessor in the process. If Nintendo wants to keep the Switch 2’s momentum going strong, it will need to make sure that there is a steady stream of new games for fans to play in the months ahead.

As of the time of this writing, much of Nintendo’s plans for the Switch 2 in 2026 remain a mystery. While leaks have potentially let slip some of the big games that Nintendo is releasing this holiday season, the company has mostly kept the focus on the games releasing within the next few months. The latest update Nintendo gave on upcoming games for the Switch 2 came as part of its latest financial report, and there are some major titles to look forward to in the near future.

Nintendo Reveals the 5 Best-Selling Switch 2 Games So Far

Nintendo reveals the best-selling Switch 2 exclusive games that have been released for its latest home console/handheld hybrid so far.

List of Upcoming Switch 2 Exclusive Games

  • Yoshi and the Mysterious Book – May 21
  • Star Fox (2026) – June 25
  • Splatoon Raiders – July 23
  • Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – TBA 2026
  • Pokemon Winds and Waves – TBA 2027

Nintendo’s announcement didn’t include new game reveals, but it did reiterate the big Switch 2 games that will be released in the near-future. On the first-party side of things, Nintendo has Yoshi and the Mysterious Book releasing as a Switch 2 exclusive on May 21, followed by the Star Fox remake on June 25. The single-player/co-op focused Splatoon spin-off, Splatoon Raiders, is due for release on July 23. And finally, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is set for release this year, while Pokemon Winds and Waves are coming at some point in 2027. Switch 2 owners will also have the chance to play Switch 1 game Rhythm Heaven Groove on July 2 since the Switch 2 is backward compatible with Switch 1 software.

Nintendo is likely to host a big Nintendo Direct event in June where it will have many more reveals for first-party Switch 2 exclusive games, but in the meantime, reliable leaks have potentially revealed some plans ahead of schedule. Leakers have correctly predicted the release windows for Star Fox and Splatoon Raiders, and so it stands to reason that their claim that Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will release this summer is correct as well. Those same leakers also said that a Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is coming to the Switch 2 as the big holiday game, so it will be interesting to see if that comes to pass.

List of Upcoming Switch 2 Third-Party Games

  • Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – May 12
  • Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition – May 22
  • eFootball Kick-Off! – June 3
  • Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth – June 3
  • The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales – June 18
  • Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok – July 9

  • 007 First Light – Summer 2026
  • Orbitals – Summer 2026
  • Village in the Shadw – Fall 2026
  • Professor Layton and the New World of Steam – TBA 2026

Nintendo’s same financial report also highlighted third-party games that are on the way for the Switch 2. Xbox-published Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is coming to Switch 2 on May 12, while Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition is on deck for May 22. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be released for Switch 2 on June 3 alongside eFootball Kick-Off!, and The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is coming on June 18. Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok will be released on July 9, Culdcept Begins is coming on July 16, and this summer will see the release of 007 First Light and Orbitals, with the latter being a co-op focused Switch 2 exclusive. Village in the Shade is coming to Switch 2 in the fall, and finally, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam will be released at some point later this year.

Really, this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to upcoming Switch 2 games. Rest assured, there should be plenty of worthwhile games to play on Nintendo’s latest home console/handheld hybrid, though the jury is still out if fans think the software justifies the Switch 2 console price increase.
