Indie Metroidvania MIO: Memories in Orbit Getting A Physical Edition Soon

After garnering positive reviews earlier this year with its digital release, MIO: Memories in Orbit is officially gearing up for a physical release on April 10. The metroidvania sees you exploring a gorgeous, unsettling, robotic world, as you unravel its mysteries and unlock heaps of new abilities along the way. Preorders are now open for the physical version of MIO, which is coming to PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch later this year.

Over on Steam, MIO: Memories in Orbit is sitting with a “Very Positive” score after nearly 2,000 reviews. On Metacritic, it has an excellent 83 Metascore.

If you want to buy it on PC, pick it up from Fanatical–it’s currently on sale for $17.59 (was $20), and you’ll unlock a 5% off coupon for your next purchase along with a Lunar Sale Envelope for spending over $15. This could include everything from a free indie game to an additional discount voucher.

MIO: Memories in Orbit follows the tiny robot of the same name. You’ll guide MIO through a decaying, robotic world as you try to determine the purpose of the Vessel–a massive technological ark that’s teeming with machines that seem to have grown a mind of their own. The metroidvania features over 30 enemy types, 15 bosses, and unlockable powers and abilities that will aid you both with traversing the land and in combat.

Looking for another metroidvania to sink your teeth into? Several are currently on sale at Amazon. Shadow Labyrinth, the Pac-Man-inspired platformer, is just $20.77 (was $30) on Switch, while Ori: The Collection is just $37.25 (was $50). The latter is mighty enticing as it bundles together both the Blind Forest Definitive Edition and the Will of the Wisps. You’ll also get a set of art cards and digital soundtracks. For something a bit more terrifying, Blasphemous 2 is seeing a slight discount to $28 (was $30), and its brutal combat and expansive combo system make it an easy recommendation for anyone seeking a mature adventure.

Disclosure: GameSpot and Fanatical are both owned by Fandom.
