Insomniac's Wolverine Game Officially Has a PS5 Release Date

Insomniac Games has just confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will be launching on September 15, 2026. Much like Insomniac’s Spider-Man series, Marvel’s Wolverine will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive when it launches later this year.

Marvel’s Wolverine was first announced alongside Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 during the September 2021 PlayStation Showcase. But while Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 received a gameplay trailer in May 2023 and eventually released in October the same year, Marvel’s Wolverine wasn’t seen until the September 2025 State of Play. During this State of Play, Insomniac shared its first look at Wolverine‘s gameplay, and confirmed a Fall 2026 release window.

When it comes to high-profile first-party PlayStation games like this one, release dates tend to be revealed during an event like a Sony State of Play, or at least via a PlayStation Blog post. Release date reveals for PlayStation first-party games also often come alongside a new trailer for the game. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, for instance, was given its October 20, 2023 release date at Summer Game Fest 2023 following a new look at gameplay.
