Invincible VS has officially confirmed its open beta dates for April 9 to 11 with a 10-character roster, adding Allen the Alien to the lineup. The fighting game was announced in June 2025 and has since shared quite a few trailers showcasing its brutal combat gameplay. Invincible VS held a closed alpha in November, but now more players will have the chance to try out the title ahead of its global release on April 30, 2026.
Developed by Quarter Up and published by Skybound Games, Invincible VS is a three-on-three tag fighting game based on Robert Kirkman’s Invincible comic series and Amazon Prime’s acclaimed superhero TV show. In earlier trailers, the developers have unveiled iconic characters like Atom Eve, Omni-Man, Monster Girl, and Invincible himself in blood-filled, fast-paced combat. Players will also be transported to some of the show’s most memorable locations during fights. The game will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC later in April. To give players a first-hand experience of Invincible VS, Skybound Games is launching an open beta, but not all fans will be able to access it.

In a recent PlayStation Blog interview, Invincible VS‘s executive producer, Mike Willette, explained that the upcoming open beta will “be focused on online play and ranked play.” According to Willette, after going through the tutorial and practice mode, players will fight some placement matches. Then, they can be set against fans at a similar rank and skill level in Ranked mode. Aside from the 10 playable characters, the open beta will feature six location arenas, some inspired by the animated show, like Ka-Hor’s tomb. It is worth noting that Invincible VS will include 18 characters once it officially hits the shelves, so the open beta lets players try out over half of the base game’s roster.
While the open beta features multiple popular superheroes from the Invincible universe, it does not include Ella Mental. The heroine is a brand-new character debuting on Invincible VS with her own unique background story. Ella Mental’s design had input from Invincible creators Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker, and she can use different elements in combat. Invincible VS has also confirmed Dupli-Kate, Powerplex, Cecil, and Viltrumite soldiers Anissa and Lucan as part of the roster. There are still two more characters that have yet to be unveiled, but the developers will likely reveal them in the coming weeks.
After its global release on April 30, Invincible VS plans on launching four additional fighters between June and December, which players can obtain with the Year 1 Character Pass. Some of Invincible‘s most powerful characters, like The Immortal or Conquest, are still missing from the game’s lineup. Hopefully for players, more fan-favorite superheroes will be added sooner rather than later, considering that the Invincible universe has plenty of characters to pick from. On the other hand, fans can also look forward to the release of Invincible Season 4 on March 18.
