June 2 Is Going To Be A Big Day for Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO has confirmed that its next season will be titled Forever Forward and will kick off on June 2. An exciting era is coming for Pokemon GO players in the next few months, with the mobile game reaching its tenth anniversary and GO Fest 2026 introducing highly anticipated Pokemon.

Pokemon GO is getting ready to wrap up its ongoing Memories in Motion season, which added several new Pokemon, including Blipbug, Flittle, Silicobra, Orthworm, and Mimikyu. It also coincided with the franchise’s 30th anniversary and marked the start of Pokemon GO‘s 10th anniversary celebrations. Memories in Motion is scheduled to end on June 2 at 10:00 AM local time, but the development team has already revealed the duration of Pokemon GO‘s next season.

Pokemon GO Holds Huge Record for Series Unlikely to Be Broken

Nearly 10 years after its release, Pokemon GO continues to maintain a record for the series, and it’s unlikely that any other game will ever top it.

Pokemon GO’s Forever Forward Season Confirmed for June 2, 2026

Through a 15-second-long trailer, Pokemon GO has confirmed that its next season will be called “Forever Forward” and will run from June 2 to September 8, 2026. The video shows a player walking up to a visor-wearing Pikachu, a costumed Pokemon previously released during the Spring Marathon event in May 2026. Finally, the presence of confetti and Pokemon GO‘s 10th-anniversary logo tease that the season will carry on with the milestone festivities. It is worth noting that Forever Forward will coincide with GO Fest Global 2026, an event that will finally add Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y to Pokemon GO.

Although the first teaser for Forever Forward does not reveal much, the development team will likely share a longer, more detailed trailer in the coming days, potentially teasing which Pokemon debuts are planned for the season. On the other hand, the dates for Pokemon GO‘s next three Community Days have already been unveiled, with June 20 first in line. In a separate video, the developers teased that an Ice-type Pokemon would star at June’s Community Day. Unlike Memories in Motion, though, Forever Forward will not feature a Community Day Classic event.

While Memories in Motion leaned on a nostalgic theme, it seems Forever Forward will focus on the future of Pokemon GO instead. The game will turn ten years old on July 6, and many players are hoping for unique rewards like costumed Pokemon and limited bonuses. Additionally, GO Fest Global 2026 is scheduled for July 11 and 12 with several Raids, bonuses, and the debut of Mega Mewtwo and Zeraora. It will be interesting to see how Pokemon GO will tackle its 10th anniversary celebration with Forever Forward.

Pokemon GO‘s GO Fest activities recently kicked off in Tokyo, Japan, with an in-person event granting players early access to Mega Mewtwo. The next cities to receive the GO Fest experience will be Chicago and Copenhagen in June. However, while global players wait for GO Fest Global, they can participate in Pokemon GO‘s upcoming limited Team Leader quests. From May 26 to June 15, players can complete Candela, Blanche, and Spark’s missions focused on catching Pokemon, hatching Eggs, and defeating battles. Limited GO Passes will also be available, rewarding fans with costumed Lapras, Elekid, and Ponyta.
