Latest Crimson Desert Update Made Important Quality-of-Life Change Not Mentioned in the Patch Notes

Crimson Desert players have noticed an important quality-of-life change with merchants that could save some gamers a lot of time. Interestingly, it seems that this change wasn’t mentioned in the most recent Crimson Desert patch notes, leaving fans to discover it for themselves.

Crimson Desert is one of the most successful video game releases of the year so far. The open-world RPG from developer Pearl Abyss has struck a chord with gamers, leading to massive player count numbers and huge sales. Just over a month after its initial release, the post-launch support for the game has been excellent. While there has been plenty of Crimson Desert criticism from players, Pearl Abyss has been quick to respond with updates that attempt to address as many issues as possible.

Crimson Desert Has a Ghosting Problem

Crimson Desert players report the game’s extreme ghosting problems in particular situations, and its beautiful graphics only exacerbate the issue.

Crimson Desert Now Shows Max Trust Unlocks For Merchants

As noticed by Redditor Casiell89, the latest Crimson Desert update now lets players see items that will be unlocked when reaching max Trust with a merchant. Previously, players could waste their gifts on merchants that had no additional items to unlock, but would only discover this after reaching maximum Trust with them. Now, players can save their items, making for an excellent quality-of-life update. However, the change wasn’t listed in Crimson Desert‘s massive 1.04.00 patch notes, nor did it feature in the smaller 1.04.02 update a day later. There are Trust changes detailed in both updates, but none that fit this description. It’s unclear why Pearl Abyss decided to omit this from the patch notes, but it’s important for players to be aware of, regardless.

Fans in the thread were excited about the change, with some even admitting to reloading their saves just to see what merchants had available at maximum Trust in Crimson Desert. They reiterated how annoying it was previously to waste items on NPCs who had nothing to offer, and the change was almost universally hailed throughout the thread as a great addition to the game. The only opposite argument against it was that it was less immersive now, but that opinion was only held by the minority of users.

It’s these types of changes that are really adding up to a much better Crimson Desert experience. All the post-launch content is great, but the small quality-of-life fixes will arguably have a much more significant effect on the game in the long run. Crimson Desert continues to retain an extremely high player count on Steam, an impressive feat given that single-player titles usually drop off quickly after launch. Pearl Abyss’s post-launch support for the game undoubtedly plays a big role in how long players seem to be sticking around.

Pearl Abyss has been very transparent in terms of updates coming to Crimson Desert, but it’s not clear what’s up next for the open-world RPG. There is no shortage of fans voicing their opinions on which features should come next for Crimson Desert, and hopefully, the developer will continue to listen to the community to address their concerns, as this approach has certainly worked well so far.
