League of Legends Worlds Tickets Are Being Scalped for Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars

Tickets to League of Legends‘ upcoming World Championships are being resold for a staggering markup, with some priced over $100,000. The annual League of Legends event is set to begin in October and run through November.

League of Legends remains one of the biggest competitive games in the world, even nearly seventeen years after its original release. Riot Games supports competitive circuits for the game in several of its biggest regions, including the North America-based League Championship Series and South Korea’s League of Legends Champion Korea. The game’s annual World Championships easily stands as the biggest event of the year for competitive League of Legends, bringing together the best teams from each region to compete for a shot at the world title. However, fans looking to attend this year’s event may now have to pay a premium to attend the tournament.

Don’t mind a rough laning phase? These League of Legends champions can solo carry any game once the late-game team fights hit.

League of Legends Worlds Tickets Are Being Resold for Extreme Prices

Tickets to the 2026 League of Legends World Championships are seeing significant markups on secondhand marketplaces. Tickets for the World Championships being held at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center are being sold for as high as $169,000 on SeatGeek for a suite seat at the event. Even seats in the rafters of the arena are seeing marked increases from the original prices, with the cheapest tickets starting at $1,860. Many fans have cited the Fan First ticketing process used for distributing tickets for the event as a major cause, with Riot Games confirming that a drawing system determined which verified accounts received early access ahead of general admission sales.

The scalping issue with 2026 Worlds has already prompted Riot Games look into correcting the problem. The League of Legends and Valorant developer officially confirmed that more general admission tickets were going to be made available at a later date, announcing a second wave of tickets to be sold in August. Rumors have also suggested that there may have only been a limited number of general admission tickets available when sales opened on July 24, though Riot Games has not confirmed the claims.

While League of Legends‘ World Championships is still months away, fans should have plenty of reason to be excited about the game in the meantime. Riot Games recently revealed League of Legends Classic as a throwback to an older version of the game, bringing back the original versions of some of its most popular champions and the old Summoner’s Rift map. The new League of Legends game mode will also feature the return of League of Legends‘ older Runes and Masteries system, using a Mastery tree based on the Season 3 layout.

2026 has been a big year for League of Legends with a plethora of major new releases outside the core title. Riot’s League of Legends-based trading card game, Riftbound, has launched multiple expansions since the original debut of Origins in late 2025, including Spiritforged in February and Unleashed in May. League of Legends fighting game 2XKO was also released on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in January, alongside the debut of the game’s Season 1 update. League of Legends remains one of the most popular games in the world, with Riot Games continuing to expand the franchise.
