Some images making the rounds online claim to reveal the starters that will be featured in the Generation 10 Pokemon games, believed to be subtitled Wind and Wave, but fans should treat the “leaks” with serious skepticism. The Generation 10 Pokemon games are expected to be revealed as part of the big Pokemon Day celebration on Friday, February 27. If the leaks and rumors about the Gen 10 Pokemon games are accurate, franchise fans should be able to check them out by the end of the year, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Considering the massive success of the main series Pokemon games, Generation 10 releases have always been inevitable. And with it being nearly four years since the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, fans are actually overdue for new entries in the series. It’s extremely likely that the Gen 10 Pokemon games will be revealed on February 27, and if the reveal is anything like Scarlet and Violet, one has to imagine that the starters will be shown off as well.

Pokemon Gen 10 Starter “Leaked” Images Appear Online
There is considerable hype for the Generation 10 Pokemon games, with speculation running rampant on what the starters will look like. As usual, there have been all kinds of fan mock-ups and blatantly fake leaks hitting the internet claiming to reveal the Generation 10 starters, with one gaining some traction. Images of supposed Generation 10 Pokemon starters have been making the rounds online, showing a fire turtle, a water raccoon, and a grass goat. The images attempt to replicate the general feel of recent Pokemon games, but fans should take them with a massive grain of salt. Unfortunately for Pokemon fans anxious to see the new starter Pokemon, these Gen 10 starter “leaks” are almost certainly fake.

Even though there have been many legitimate Pokemon leaks over the years, the biggest red flag about these Gen 10 starters is that they simply don’t look like Pokemon. All three of them seem a little too basic to be starters, with the water raccoon especially lacking the detail one would expect from a Pokemon starter. Still, there have been some positive comments on social media about these supposed Gen 10 starters, with some actually enjoying the simplistic design of the water raccoon.
A grass goat Pokemon would also be redundant. Skiddo and Gogoat checked that box all the way back in the Generation 6 Pokemon games, X and Y, and so it seems unlikely that Game Freak and The Pokemon Company would go back to that well for one of the Gen 10 starter Pokemon. There have also been multiple “fire turtle” Pokemon in the franchise already, and one has to hope that a little more creativity would be put into coming up with the Fire-type starter for Pokemon Wind and Wave.
Ultimately, Pokemon fans will have to tune in to the Pokemon Presents on February 27 at 6am PT to potentially see the actual new starters. After all, it’s possible that the Generation 10 Pokemon games will be showcased on Pokemon Day without the new starters being shown, and it’s also possible that the games won’t be at the show at all, as unlikely as that may seem. All we know for sure is that the event will be about 25 minutes long and discuss ongoing and future Pokemon titles. But with big announcements like Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen coming to Switch dropped a week in advance of the show, it seems like there will be plenty of time to highlight Generation 10, the new starter Pokemon, and everything else the next main series Pokemon games have in store.
