As players count down the days to the release of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, developer TT Games, publisher Warner Bros. Games, and DC Comics have revealed a first look at the official in-game LEGO version of Absolute Batman. Penned by Scott Snyder, the Absolute Universe features an alternate version of Batman that has been delighting comic book fans since the series first launched in October 2024. In a surprise to Snyder and readers, the criminal-background Absolute Batman will be making his LEGO debut on May 22 with the release of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.

For those unfamiliar, Absolute Batman depicts Bruce Wayne as a blue-collar civil engineer who grew up in Crime Alley alongside his friends Killer Croc, The Penguin, and The Riddler, while The Joker has been reimagined as a wealthy billionaire antagonist. The alternate lore of Absolute Batman gives fans the opportunity to see just how successful Bruce Wayne’s crime-fighting tactics are when he is without an arsenal of expensive high-tech equipment, and this fresh take on the Caped Crusader has made Absolute Batman one of the hottest selling comics on the market. As such, it should come as no surprise that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is bringing the rugged Absolute vigilante into the fold as a playable character, and creator Scott Snyder has already given his seal of approval.

LEGO Absolute Batman’s suit features ripped detailing, along with his familiar spiked shoulder pauldrons. Scott Snyder was instantly shocked to see that Absolute Batman was so quickly added to LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight just weeks before the game’s launch and was thoroughly impressed by how “tough” and “perfect” LEGO Absolute Batman looks. He was also happy to see the inclusion of Absolute Catwoman as one of the playable characters in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, saying he “cannot believe” how good Catwoman looks with her jointed tail design.
