In an incredible custom build, LEGO‘s 3-in-1 Sea Animals: Beautiful Dolphins 31385 set is turned into a big Hatsune Miku figure without using additional pieces. One of the perks of collecting and building LEGO is that one doesn’t have to abide by the rules of the instructions and can instead make whatever they want. This can be applied to the new LEGO Smart Bricks, despite the fact that they make sounds or effects based on specific characters, items, vehicles, and so forth from a given IP. For example, Star Wars lightsaber sounds could be used on LEGO cars.
Options are virtually endless for creating anything one wants. For example, a fan recently turned LEGO’s Halloween Pumpkin Lantern set into Pokemon‘s Charmander, all while keeping the lantern’s piece providing light as the iconic critter’s flame on the tip of its tail. There are multiple such cases online, and MOC builds (short for “my own creation”) have become very popular within the community. As such, it doesn’t come as a surprise that a whole Hatsune Miku MOC became so popular in a short span of time.
Custom LEGO Hatsune Miku Build From 3-in-1 Dolphins Set
Expert LEGO builder Minute_Food_2881, also known as CreationCaravan on Rebrickable, shared a post on Reddit showcasing their latest creation, which is an upscaled figure of Hatsune Miku made entirely from the pieces available in the 3-in-1 Sea Animals set. Recently, Minute_Food_2881 turned LEGO’s 3-in-1 Dolphins set into Star Wars‘ Millennium Falcon, so it doesn’t surprise too much to see them use this same kit to make something completely different. It’s an interesting choice to make Hatsune Miku, as the character is an internet sensation and has received plenty of crossovers in multiple media, especially video games. Originally built in the Vocaloid 2 engine in 2007, Hatsune Miku has since seen crossovers with Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, Fortnite, and even Domino’s Pizza. In this case, the 3-in-1 Sea Animals: Beautiful Dolphins set is the perfect way to rebuild the character with bricks.

Minute_Food_2881 turned the set’s waves into Hatsune Miku’s hair, whereas the body parts used to make dolphins, a crab, or a seahorse became the character’s clothes. The sand from the seafloor part of the build is what makes up Hatsune Miku’s skin, and she even holds a makeshift scepter using residue pieces, such as algae. The waves used in the set match almost perfectly the same color as the character’s hair, which makes for an accurate, fun MOC. Minute_Food_2881’s penchant for transforming this set may have reached a new high with Hatsune Miku, but they also turned LEGO’s Beautiful Dolphins set into Pokemon‘s Articuno and Omanyte just a few weeks ago.

For those excited to see new LEGO sets that can be turned into something else, there are already leaks of new LEGO January 2027 sets detailed online, including piece count and price. Then, it’s likely that more Pokemon sets will be released in February in honor of Pokemon Day.
At the same time, many LEGO sets are retiring in 2026 towards the end of the year, including fan-favorite crossovers with Animal Crossing and Super Mario. Fortunately, the 3-in-1 Beautiful Dolphins set seems safe, which makes sense considering how popular it has become among fans so far.
