LEGO Could Be Getting a PlayStation Console Set in 2026, According to Leak

LEGO Could Be Getting a PlayStation Console Set in 2026, According to Leak

According to a new leak, LEGO could be releasing a set based on the original 1995 PlayStation console. This upcoming LEGO set is said to include at least the console itself and an accompanying controller, and could release as early as December 2026.

This wouldn’t be the first time LEGO has made a set based on an iconic video game console. All the way back in August 2020, LEGO released the Nintendo Entertainment System, a 2,646-piece, 18+ set that captured the likeness of the beloved 1985 Nintendo console, its controller, a Super Mario Bros. cartridge, and a mini TV that displayed the groundbreaking platformer in action. Two years later, LEGO released a 2,532-piece Atari 2600 set, and soon after it debuted a 2,651-piece LEGO Pac-Man Arcade set. More recently, LEGO has released a Sega Genesis controller and a LEGO Game Boy.

First LEGO Pokemon Set With Minifigs Detailed in New Leak

At least one of the upcoming LEGO Pokemon sets targeting a 2026 release is reportedly going to include minifigures, though some questions remain.

LEGO PlayStation Console Set Could Be In The Works

LEGO’s foray into the world of gaming could be continuing very soon. On March 10, leaker lego_minecraft_goat took to Instagram to share some details about an alleged upcoming set based on the original PlayStation console. According to the leaker, this LEGO PlayStation set will include “at least” the controller and the console, and will feature 1,911 pieces. This set is reportedly set to release in December 2026, when it will retail for $159.99.

In saying that this set will feature “at least” the controller and console, lego_minecraft_goat could be suggesting that additional elements may be present in the final version of the set. As already mentioned, the previously released LEGO NES set came with an accompanying Super Mario Bros. cartridge and TV, and the LEGO Atari 2600 set came with several game cartridges, a small shelf to hold them, and three dioramas depicting some of the console’s most iconic games. The LEGO Pac-Man Arcade machine also came with an additional component in the form of buildable Pac-Man, Blinky, and Clyde figures, and the recently released LEGO Game Boy came with two game cartridges and interchangable screen pieces. It’s possible that the rumored LEGO PlayStation set will follow suit and feature its own brick-built game cases, though that’s purely speculation at this stage.

Every PlayStation-Related LEGO Set Released So Far

While PlayStation hasn’t had as strong of a relationship with LEGO as fellow gaming giant Nintendo, it’s still had its fair share of collaborations. On the video game front, LEGO and Sony worked together directly on LEGO Horizon Adventures, a 2024 co-op action-adventure game that put a uniquely LEGO spin on the events of the first Horizon game. In terms of actual PlayStation-related LEGO sets, only two have been released so far.

If this rumored LEGO PlayStation set is real, then it could end up paving the way for future LEGO sets based on Sony first-party IP. There’s no shortage of viable PlayStation material for LEGO to adapt. While much of Sony’s exclusive line-up is dominated by M-rated franchises like God of War and Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei, there’s plenty of family-friendly IP for LEGO to adapt as well, with Astro Bot being an obvious choice.
