It is now officially confirmed that Let It Die is shutting down. Developed by Supertrick Games and published by GungHo Online, Let It Die is a survival action game that debuted back in 2016 as a PlayStation exclusive. The game challenges players with taking on the role of a fighter and making their way to the top of a massive structure called the Tower of Barbs, after a global disaster reshapes the world. It’s a title that has over nine million downloads and continues to attract players.
However, one criticism that has always surrounded Let It Die is that it needs an online connection. Many players have felt that the game is designed as a single-player experience, and even though it does include PvP elements, it would have been better if it had an offline mode. Acknowledging this feedback, Supertrick Games confirmed in December 2025 that it is working to bring an offline version of the game. The developer stated that once this version of the game arrives, players will be able to carry all of their decade-long progression to it, with more information about its release to be shared when it is ready. Fans have been waiting to hear more, as many feel that the game is one of the best-action adventure titles. Now, it seems like that moment has finally arrived.

Let It Die Confirms Offline Version Launch Date
GungHo Online Entertainment and Supertrick Games have officially confirmed that Let It Die is going offline on September 1, 2026. However, the game isn’t completely disappearing as the developer is planning to release the Let It Die offline version in Fall 2026 for players to enjoy the game without the requirement of an internet connection. Those who have already played the title will be able to jump into action on their PlayStation 5 or PC by purchasing the offline version of the game as a DLC. Their progress will be automatically transferred from the online to the offline version of the game.
With this change, Let It Die will become one of those games that can be played fully offline. Players who are trying to Let It Die for the very first time will need to purchase the offline edition of the game. As of now, the developers haven’t revealed the price of the DLC or the standalone release, but it’s expected that more details will be shared in the coming months as the launch of the game’s offline version gets closer. With the game dropping its live-service status and moving to an offline state, players can expect to see several adjustments in the game. This includes the removal of seasonal content and in-game currencies. The PvP mode will now have CPU-controlled enemies, and some of the existing cosmetics in the game, which were previously purchasable, will now be unlockable through in-game progression.
Players over on Reddit and Twitter have seemingly welcomed these changes and feel that the developers are finally making the right decisions about the game. However, there are still some frustrations within the community regarding Supertrick Games when it comes to Let It Die: Inferno. The title has received a lot of criticism since its launch for its use of generative AI when it comes to in-game voices, music, and graphics. While the developers have tried explaining their reasons behind the use of AI in the game, players aren’t particularly happy about it.
In the current state of the gaming industry, where live-service games like Highguard are being shut down, players find it reassuring that Supertrick Games chose to move Let It Die offline. The game may have a small player base, but the developers seem to value its community and want the game to continue in some form. Players now hope that the pricing and release date for Let It Die‘s offline version will be revealed soon.
