Limited-Time Pokopia Event Adds New Legendary Pokemon and More

Pokemon Pokopia players have a special event to look forward to for a limited time starting on June 23, adding unique and themed items to the game along with the arrival of Jirachi for the first time. After launching back in March, Pokemon Pokopia has gone on to become a smash hit for Nintendo and Koei Tecmo, selling millions of copies and proving to be wildly popular with players.

Looking to capitalize on that popularity, Pokemon Pokopia announced new DLC in the form of free content updates as well as bigger expansions. Alongside a new Expansion Pass, the first paid DLC arrives in August and will let players build underwater towns. Alongside the paid content, a free update will add the Dive mechanic, allowing players to explore the ocean and interact with the world in the same way as they do on land. However, until then, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company intend to keep players logging in with smaller updates, including a special new limited-time event.

Pokemon Pokopia Wish Upon a Jirachi Event Details

Pokemon Pokopia is kicking off the Wish Upon a Jirachi event starting on June 23 at 5 AM, which runs through and then concludes on July 8 at 4:59 AM local time. At that time, the Wish Pokemon Jirachi will appear in-game, allowing players to interact with it and earn a wish notes recipe. Using wish notes, players can then fulfill other Pokemon requests to earn “Sparkling Wish Notes”, which are then turned back in to Jirachi at the Pokemon Center to unlock unique Starry Sky-inspired furniture and decor.

One thing to note is that Jirachi will only appear in towns that have a completely rebuilt Pokemon Center in them. Players will need to ensure that at least one Pokemon Pokopia town has been fully rebuilt in order to take part in the event.

The new event comes on the heels of another recent Pokopia announcement. On July 2, Pokemon Pokopia will be bundled with the Nintendo Switch 2, though the catch here is that it will be appearing in Europe. The bundle itself is the same that Australia and New Zealand received back on June 5, so it seems as though Nintendo will be introducing the bundle to various regions over time. However, it’s currently unknown if Nintendo is planning something similar for the North America region, but for now, fans can instead utilize the Nintendo Switch 2: You Choose bundle, which lets buyers pick their pack in game from Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, or Pokemon Pokopia.

While Jirachi is hardly the first legendary to appear in the game, joining the likes of Ho-Oh and others, it’s clear that fans can expect to see more added over time. In fact, the previous DLC tease confirmed that the mythical Pokemon Manaphy is coming to Pokopia as well. Based on the short tease, it seems that Manaphy will be available in the upcoming Bubbly Basin town, in which players will need to utilize the Dive mechanic in order to renovate the location under the sea. Alongside Manaphy, players will be interacting with a lot of Water-types.
