Living The Dream’s Demo Has Basically No Filter

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream got a surprise demo drop this morning, and players are already testing the limits of what the social sim will let you do. Based on the brief slice people can play right now, Living the Dream seems pretty unrestricted, kinda letting you say and do whatever you want with its Mii creation and Mad Libs-style scenes. Just don’t necessarily expect to be able to easily share screenshots and videos of whatever silliness you get up to.

The original Tomadachi Life was notoriously restrictive on things like gender and dating preferences, but Living the Dream is surprisingly thorough in letting players color in the lines of their Miis, with flexible options for gender, pronouns, dating preferences, formal wear styles, and even nicknames for specific characters. It’s kind of crazy just how deep it lets you get. If you’re looking to create elaborate relationships between your Miis for them to act out, you can probably tweak all the little nuances to your liking.

Funnily enough, all that freedom extends to the dialogue you can have your Miis say, and the game doesn’t seem to have much of a filter on language, either. The real OGs will know that the original Tomodachi Life let people create some extremely funny videos that went on to become memes back in the Vine days such as the “I’m sucking my own dick and dying” song, and it looks like Living the Dream has that same potential.

Nintendo’s announcement about restricting some of the share features for Living the Dream is pretty vague, but it seems no one’s having trouble posting videos or images like the above, in which two Miis engage in a passionate discussion about cocks. I can already see this game blowing up on TikTok just like the 3DS one did on Vine. Nintendo would be smart to let players do whatever they want to create viral moments if they want more people to hop on board. Thankfully, Living the Dream is coming to the original Switch rather than just Switch 2, so there will be a lot more potential memelords grabbing the game when it launches next month.
