A recent Magic: The Gathering leak suggests that Wizards of the Coast has one more surprise crossover release coming in 2026, teasing a Spider-Man Commander Deck. The deck will serve as a follow-up to Magic‘s Spider-Man crossover, first released in late 2025.
Marvel has become one of Wizards of the Coast’s top collaboration partners, with a plethora of superhero-themed cards. The comic book juggernaut has been the focus of multiple Secret Lair releases, with the first Marvel release featuring iconic heroes like Captain America and Storm. Wizards of the Coast has debuted two full Magic sets based around iconic Marvel properties, Spider-Man and Marvel Super Heroes, with more expected to release in the coming years. Now, Magic‘s first Marvel set is reportedly finally receiving its own Commander Deck.
Magic: The Gathering Leaks New Spider-Man Commander Deck
A new leak about Magic‘s upcoming products has revealed a special holiday Commander release. A promotional product listing sent out to some retailers revealed a Spider-Man Commander Deck with a plethora of new cards being added to the game. The deck will feature the classic Peter Parker Spider-Man as its face Commander, and both Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales were teased as alternate Commanders, with the deck said to include roughly 30 new cards. The marketing material also reveals the release date for Magic‘s new Spider-Man Commander Deck, scheduled to release on December 4.

The new Spider-Man Commander Deck will also be joined by another special Marvel release for the holidays. The deck will receive a Collector’s Edition at launch, similar to the decks released for Marvel Super Heroes, which feature every card in the deck printed with the premium Surge Foil treatment. While the base Commander Deck will be printed in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, and Japanese, the Collector’s Edition was confirmed to only be available in English-language versions. The cards in the deck were also confirmed to have another quirk distinguishing them from the original Spider-Man set, with the new cards having the expansion symbol from the Commander: Marvel Super Heroes subset.
Magic‘s new Spider-Man deck should be a welcome addition for fans of the iconic superhero property. The Spider-Man crossover in Magic: The Gathering did not originally feature any Commander Decks for the set, with a subset of Eternal cards only available in side products, like Welcome Decks and Scene Boxes. The set also included a Marvel Universe subset of bonus cards that players could pull in Play Booster packs, featuring reprints of classic Magic cards like Path to Exile and Counterspell with iconic artwork from the Spider-Man comics.
Spider-Man is not the only crossover planned to round out the year for the Wizards of the Coast card game. Magic: The Gathering will debut a crossover with Star Trek as its final full expansion of the year in November 2026, featuring beloved characters like Captain Kirk, Spock, and Captain Picard. The set will also introduce Magic: The Gathering‘s first official autographed cards as the set’s headliner cards, signed by some of the franchise’s most iconic actors, such as William Shatner and Patrick Stewart. Magic: The Gathering looks to close out 2026 strong, with multiple exciting collaborations bringing a variety of new cards to the game.
