Marathon South Maintenance Terminal Location: Where To Download Data

Marathon South Maintenance Terminal Location: Where To Download Data

Marathon has plenty of contracts for you to tackle, and one of them will task you with finding where to download data from the terminal inside south Maintenance. This is part of the Order/Chaos mission, which is granted by the rebellious faction MIDA, led by troublemaker Gantry.

As you make progress through the game and gain access to more factions, MIDA won’t take long to ask for your services. After completing the contract that tasks you with destroying 15 windows, you’ll gain access to Order/Chaos. It’s a three-step contract that sounds simple enough on paper, but the third and final item can be hard to find, especially in the midst of battle against other players.

If you’re wondering where to download data from the terminal inside south Maintenance, this guide covers the exact location.

Marathon Order/Chaos Contract Steps

After you’ve completed the first assignment from Granty, the leader of MIDA, you’ll gain access to Order/Chaos. This mission has three steps to tackle, and is located in Dire Marsh, Marathon’s second map. If you’ve been hanging around Perimeter exclusively until now, it may prove to be a tough endeavor.

First, here are the steps to complete the Order/Chaos contract in Marathon:

  • Trigger alarms in south Complex by hacking a terminal
  • Acquire Security Commander credentials
  • Download data from the terminal inside south Maintenance

Steps one and two are fairly accommodating. Once you land in Dire Marsh, and if your teammates are benevolent enough to lend a hand, head over to the southern part of Complex. If you’re wondering where that is, open the map and drop a pin to use as guidance.

Once you’re in the area, you’ll come across a terminal in no time. Look for an office with yellow walls with the letters CPLX-3 above its windows. Head inside and interact with the terminal–an animation will play out, and you’ll be all set for this first time.

Doing this will soon trigger an alarm, which will bring the attention of UESC. A party will drop nearby momentarily, and among them, you’ll spot the Security Commander, likely the biggest one of the bunch. Take them down and look for loot on the ground–the credentials won’t be part of its actual loot, but rather drop on the ground individually.

Now, let’s get onto the third and final step.

Where to Download Data from the Terminal Inside South Maintenance in Marathon

The third step of the Order/Chaos contract in Marathon wants you to download data from the terminal inside south Maintenance. This is a tall order from the get-go, as Complex is located all the way on the eastern side of the map, while Maintenance is on the opposite end. This means you’ll have to stay alive no matter what before reaching your destination. Stealth and avoiding unnecessary fights are strongly recommended.

As you approach Maintenance, make sure to head toward the southern part of the point of interest, as indicated by the contract. If you’re looking at the map, the spot is roughly at the same height as the smaller structures that are to the right of the long rectangle-shaped structure.

The terminal inside south Maintenance is located within the hangar itself. There is a large ship there–if you pay attention to its left side, the opposite of where the yellow ladder is, you’ll notice a desk with some boxes. The terminal is located there.

You’ll see a prompt to download encrypted data. In a similar fashion to the first step of the contract, all you need to do is interact with the object itself, and an animation will play out. That’s all you need for the contract.

As per usual, it doesn’t matter if you’re knocked down or killed after having finished the contract, as it’ll already count as completed after the match is over. Don’t forget to head over to the factions screen to claim your rewards and continue progressing through MIDA’s contracts.

If you’re in search of additional help in and around Marathon, we have guides covering the Data Reconstruction quest, how to increase your backpack inventory size, how to unlock each faction, and all Runner Shells and their abilities.
