March 30 is Suddenly a Big Day for Lies of P

Hit soulslike title Lies of P has confirmed a new boss event for March 30, 2026. Developed by South Korean studios Neowiz and Round8, Lies of P initially launched in 2023 and was praised for its storytelling and visuals. Two years later, the developers released a DLC called Lies of P: Overture, giving the game a resurgence in popularity. Since then, many fans have been hoping for a sequel, but Round8 has shared little to no information about it. However, it seems the development team doesn’t plan to set Lies of P aside yet, as it continues to host special gameplay events.

Soon after the Lies of P: Overture DLC was shadowdropped in June 2025, the game surpassed 3 million copies sold. Lies of P‘s Steam player count also hit an all-time high of 30,095 concurrent players within days. More recently, on March 19, 2026, Neowiz confirmed that Lies of P had sold an impressive 4 million copies. Now, the studio has shared a video teaser of an upcoming limited event.

Lies of P Reveals New Boss Event for March 30, 2026

Through an official Twitter post, Lies of P has shared a short teaser announcing an upcoming boss event for Monday, March 30, 2026. In the video, protagonist P can be seen facing both phases of the King of Puppets, one of the hardest bosses in the Lies of P base game. The game has not shared any more details on the event, but the announcement comes two months after the first official Boss Rush Challenge held in January 2026. This previous event let players compete for a chance of winning a limited Lies of P organ collectible, so there’s a chance that the upcoming March boss event will have similar rewards.

Over on the Lies of P official Discord server, the development team gave a few hints of what the upcoming boss event would consist of. The January boss challenge asked players to defeat the Parade Master as fast as possible in Boss Rush Level 5 mode, the hardest Lies of P difficulty. However, the game later confirmed that the next challenge won’t have the same rules. Instead, the following boss event will “reward style over speed.” The developers advised fans to start coming up with their “most creative combat techniques.” This suggests that the March 30 boss event will ask players to defeat the King of Puppets using unique gameplay tricks, regardless of their time record.

Fans can expect the detailed guidelines for the next boss event in the coming days, and certain restrictions will potentially apply as well. For example, the previous challenge forbade the use of strong Lies of P: Overture weapons like the Rose Sword.

Since the launch of Overture, some Neowiz job listings have suggested that the studio is actively working on more Lies of P content. Moreover, according to a 2025 Neowiz earnings report, a Lies of P sequel could launch sometime in 2026, though development delays are always a possibility. One of Lies of P‘s endings teased a major character as the key to a follow-up story, but whether it’s followed up on or not remains to be seen.
