The highly anticipated indie title Mina the Hollower will finally arrive in the last week of May, according to social media posts from developer Yacht Club Games. Barring any further delays, the imminent launch of Mina the Hollower will come nearly four years after the game was first revealed.
Mina the Hollower is an action-focused game inspired by past titles from The Legend of Zelda series, such as the Oracle duology and Link’s Awakening. The top-down perspective gameplay is further tempered by Soulslike gameplay to add a degree of punishing but satisfying challenge to the game’s encounters. Billed by developer Yacht Club Games as a love letter to the Game Boy era, Mina the Hollower‘s 8-bit art style and Victorian Gothic horror inspirations make it one of the more unique indie titles arriving this year.

As other gaming systems get more expensive, Nintendo Switch 2 remains at launch price, but shareholders are apparently pushing for an increase.
Mina the Hollower Is Almost Here
Although Mina the Hollower was initially delayed from its Halloween 2025 release window, Yacht Club Games said that fans will not have much longer to wait for it. Mina the Hollower will arrive on Friday, May 29, on all current-gen platforms, and will have a launch day MSRP of $19.99. Yacht Club Games revealed the new release date and MSRP via a short trailer on social media, and emphasized that May 29 was the “true final release date” of the Game Boy-inspired title. Mina the Hollower can now be wishlisted on several storefronts, including Steam, GOG, and the Nintendo eShop. Yacht Club Games confirmed via Mina the Hollower‘s Kickstarter page that a physical release would happen at a later date, as it wanted to get the game out sooner. Ergo, Mina the Hollower will exclusively launch on digital platforms.
Despite the 8-bit visual style, Mina the Hollower will support modern controls and widescreen displays. Along with support for Windows PCs, Mina the Hollower will also launch on macOS and Linux operating systems. Additionally, the Switch and Switch 2 versions of Mina the Hollower have separate listings on the Nintendo eShop, so it is unclear if there will be an upgrade pack option for players to consider. Given that developer Yacht Club Games previously worked on Shovel Knight, one of the most successful indie games to date, fan expectations for Mina the Hollower have been high since its 2022 reveal and subsequent Kickstarter funding campaign. The Kickstarter received backing from 21,439 users and raised $1,239,584.
The release date announcement came nearly two weeks after Yacht Club Games surprised fans with an update on Mina the Hollower‘s development. After previously stating its upcoming project would arrive sometime in the spring, Yacht Club Games said that Mina the Hollower had gone gold on April 24. While the main development cycle of Mina the Hollower has come to an end, Yacht Club Games may still spend the remaining time until release addressing any lingering bugs or issues.
