Moonlight Peaks Releases Update 1.2.6

Moonlight Peaks Releases Update 1.2.6

Moonlight Peaks, the pastel goth vampire farming sim game like Stardew Valley, has released a new update that targets some economy issues, as well as issues with the Nokturna card mini-game. Overall, it’s a small but influential update for Moonlight Peaks players.

Since its release in July, Moonlight Peaks has attracted a dedicated fanbase who love its unique world, its take on the farming sim gameplay loop, and the various characters players can meet (and romance) in-game. This is represented in Moonlight Peaks‘ rock-solid reviews on Steam and Metacritic. It sits at an 88% Very Positive rating on Steam, has an 81 Generally Favorable Metascore, and a User Score of 8.0 on Metacritic. Fans have plenty to enjoy, with this latest update working to ensure that things remain enjoyable.

All Quests in Moonlight Peaks

Here are all quest you can complete in Moonlight Peaks, their objectives, and their rewards.

Moonlight Peaks Update 1.2.6 Patch Notes

  • Restored Recipes and Prices of Red Wine, White Wine, and Beer to what they were before Patch 1.2.3
  • Increased Honey sell price and production to make it more profitable, matching the revenue from before Patch 1.2.3
  • Bulk cooking now works with up to 25 items, instead of 8
  • Bulk cooking now requires playing the cooking minigame only once per bulk
  • Fixed an issue where some decorations could not be picked up anymore, including the Herb Garden and Cauldron
  • Fixed an issue where additional copies of a Nokturna card were not recognized in the collection overview and deckbuilder

Moonlight Peaks developer Little Chicken has released a handful of updates in the month-and-a-half (or so) since launch, and at least part of the new Update 1.2.6 is about rolling back economy changes in Patch 1.2.3. It seems fans were not happy with it. Now, the recipes and prices for Red Wine, White Wine, and Beer should be much better for players, while Honey can sell for more and produce more. That’ll help Moonlight Peaks players make a little more money.

Furthermore, Moonlight Peaks makes an update to its Bulk Cooking mini-game that should require players to play it a little less, making the enjoyment of it that much more precious. Update 1.2.6 also fixes a major issue for those who love decorating the farm to their hearts’ content; a Moonlight Peaks customization bug essentially prevents the Herb Garden and Cauldron, among other decorations, from being moved. That sort of locks players into certain lackluster layouts, and fixing it will no doubt go a long way for fans. And finally, some accounting issues with the in-game Nokturna card game have been fixed.

Overall, all of these things make the game much better, but Moonlight Peaks was solid before and is solid after. The support has definitely been nice to see, though, and Moonlight Peaks has firmly established itself as one of the best farming sims of 2026. There are quite a few of them, either out or coming soon, and so this is definitely earned.

One of the biggest upcoming farming sims, for fans of the genre, is Grave Seasons. Like Moonlight Peaks, it puts a dark twist on Stardew Valley, but whereas Moonlight Peaks is cutesy dark, Grave Seasons is dark-dark. Its core gameplay loop introduces a serial killer into the mix, one who is different in every playthrough. As of this writing, Grave Seasons has a Fall 2026 release date.
