The onset of streaming has led to a plethora of major organizations cropping up to coalesce some of the industry’s biggest talents into one group. Streamer organizations like OfflineTV, OTK, and 100 Thieves have seen some of YouTube and Twitch’s most beloved content creators pass through their ranks, with many even making forays into competitive esports. However, among the many different streamer groups within the gaming community, few have been as iconic as FaZe Clan.
FaZe Clan first got its start on YouTube in 2010, with the group’s main content primarily centering around Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The group quickly became prolific among the Call of Duty community, known for both their impressive gameplay and electric personalities early on. FaZe would quickly grow into one of gaming’s most popular streaming groups, with FaZe Clan branching out into esports and establishing professional teams for shooters like Call of Duty and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Now, FaZe Clan is saying an unexpected and sudden goodbye to several of the group’s most popular streamers.
Several Streamers Announce Departure from FaZe Clan
Multiple members of FaZe Clan have now officially confirmed their departure from the iconic content creator organization. Christmas saw several content creators affiliated with FaZe Clan, including Lacy, StableRonaldo, YourRage, and multiple others reveal that they would be leaving FaZe Clan. FaZe Clan’s Adapt served as one of the biggest creators leaving the group, with Adapt streaming as a FaZe Clan member since the brand’s early days in 2011. The members who gave a reason for their departure largely alluded to conflicts with the brand’s ownership and control, with ex-FaZe member PlaqueBoyMax particularly placing the blame on former FaZe Media CEO Banks.
The suite of sudden departures from FaZe Clan caught not only many fans off-guard, but even some other members of the group. PlaqueBoyMax’s claims about Banks cited that many of FaZe’s content creators did not have proper control over their content, which led to a response from Banks refuting the accusations. Many remaining members of FaZe were also blindsided by the news, particularly with ZooMaa and Rug claiming to feel “confused” and “heartbroken” by the changes. Beloved content creator Valkyrae would later add her own information to the ongoing drama, suggesting that some ex-FaZe members may be planning to form a new group, though nothing has been confirmed.
FaZe Clan Departures Leave The Streaming Brand’s Future Uncertain
FaZe Clan’s unexpected drama will likely leave serious questions about the future stability of the content creator organization. Many of the inflammatory remarks about FaZe management following the departures have referenced issues regarding ownership and control of content under FaZe. The group of streamers that left FaZe Clan also account for nearly half of the brand’s roster of active content creators, with eight members remaining after the departures. Popular streamer Adin Ross also suggested that money may have come into play with the departures, suggesting that FaZe owner GameSquare had requested 20% of the streamers’ earnings.
The new change in FaZe Clan’s staff isn’t the first time a major streamer has left the platform throughout 2025. The content creator group saw one of its most beloved talents walk away from FaZe Clan earlier this year, with Nickmercs announcing his departure from FaZe in January. The previously-mentioned Banks also stepped down from his position as CEO of FaZe Clan earlier this year, following controversies connected to his involvement with a meme coin cryptocurrency. The litany of departures throughout 2025 leaves the future of FaZe Clan’s streaming branch in an uncertain position.
