Survival horror fans have a lot to look forward to with the upcoming zombie game No More Room in Hell 2, a co-op survival game that pits players against hordes of the undead in massive eight-player maps. No More Room in Hell 2 does not yet have an official release date, but is set to be an early-access title on Steam in October, so players can test out new features as the game is developed.
No More Room in Hell 2 is a sequel to No More Room in Hell, a survival shooter that launched in 2011 and was originally a mod for the Source Engine from Half-Life and Left 4 Dead developer Valve. While the first game came from a small team of independent developers, No More Room in Hell 2 comes from Torn Banner Studios, who developed the medieval-themed competitive multiplayer game series Chivalry.

New World War 2 Zombie Shooter Game Confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X
New information for an upcoming World War 2 zombie shooter confirms that the game is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X.
The developers revealed No More Room in Hell 2 at this year’s Summer Game Fest with an official trailer that shows off some of the game’s mechanics along with its massive non-linear maps and darkly-lit horror scenery. While guns and melee weapons are clearly available for players to use at their discretion, the game features a permadeath mechanic, meaning that the wrong choices can end the game immediately if players are not careful.
Rather than taking a full-on action shooter approach to its gameplay loop, No Room in Hell 2′s eight-player co-op essentially works like an extraction shooter akin to The Division 2, in which players must complete objectives while fighting or evading hordes of zombies. Players will control one of several first responders who are tasked with not only surviving, but helping others avoid the game’s brutal permadeath mechanic that ensures players who die will stay dead.
No More Room in Hell saw comparisons to the Valve zombie shooter series Left 4 Dead and popular alternative Killing Floor 2, though with a stronger focus on survival rather than encouraging direct combat with zombie enemies. The game currently sits at a “Very Positive” rating on Steam and still enjoys a relatively healthy player base, with fans praising its effective horror gameplay and focus on co-op survival rather than massive shootouts.
Freedom of choice in how players engage with the maps and mechanics seems to be the main focus this time around as well, as the Steam description for No More Room in Hell 2 emphasizes the amount of options available to them. Aside from guns, melee weapons and a flashlight, the game is also taking cues from survival horror games like Resident Evil with its emphasis on challenging survival scenarios and resource management.
