An upcoming co-op Steam game called Age Twisters has an art style and story premise reminiscent of Hazelight Studios’ It Takes Two, one of the most popular co-op games in recent years. While many Steam games have followed in It Takes Two‘s footsteps, Age Twisters tries to set itself apart by introducing a unique gameplay gimmick reflected in its name.
Age Twisters is developed by Piccolo Studio, which has previously released two games, including Arise: A Simple Story. Released in 2020, Arise features both local and online co-op, and it currently holds a Very Positive user review rating on Valve’s storefront, with 91% of players recommending it. The indie studio’s previous titles were all published by Untold Tales. However, Age Twisters will be published by Krafton, a relatively larger company known for games like PUBG.
New Co-Op Game on Steam Looks Like It Takes Two Meets Hot Wheels
A new game with split-screen and online co-op on Steam mixes It Takes Two’s tried-and-true formula with Hot Wheels, and it looks gorgeous.
Age Twisters Shares the Same Emotional DNA as It Takes Two
Age Twisters centers on themes of bonding and rediscovering connections, drawing comparisons to games like It Takes Two. The story follows a grandfather and his granddaughter as they set out to find the girl’s mother, who has been missing for a while. Along the way, they discover a mysterious device that allows them to change their age at will, transforming into a child, an adult, or an elder. Designed specifically for co-op play, Age Twisters appears to build every mission and adventure around teamwork, a key element that contributed to It Takes Two‘s success.

Age Twisters Features at a Glance
- Local and online co-op
- Story-driven adventure
- Puzzle-platformer gameplay
- Age-swapping features that let players alter their appearances and skills
Another feature Age Twisters appears to share with It Takes Two is its oversized world. Piccolo Studio has not officially confirmed this, but based on the screenshots and footage released so far, the characters seem to have been shrunk to toy-like proportions, unless the game simply takes place in a world built on a much larger scale. Either way, the environments shown so far bear some resemblance to those in It Takes Two, where the protagonists were transformed into miniature versions of themselves.
Age Twisters Comes with Local Co-Op and a Friend’s Pass
Aside from its charming visuals and adventure-filled gameplay, Age Twisters includes a couple of other features that could help it become one of the best family-friendly co-op games on Steam. For starters, it supports both local split-screen multiplayer and online co-op. It also comes with a Friend’s Pass, allowing anyone who purchases the game to invite a friend who doesn’t own it. That friend can then download Age Twisters for free and join the session. The game does not currently have a confirmed release date or price. However, given the pricing of the developer’s previous titles, Age Twisters is expected to be relatively affordable.
Publisher Krafton has confirmed that it will reveal more details about Age Twisters at Gamescom 2026. Players may also get access to a playable demo at the event, though this has not been officially confirmed. In the meantime, fans of co-op games can wishlist the title on Steam and follow the developer to stay updated on future announcements. It is also worth noting that Steam is currently the only confirmed platform for Age Twisters.
