A new Steam game like Mayhem À La Carte is a perfect blend of Overcooked and Call of Duty, two games that, in theory, have no business being mentioned in the same sentence together. But thanks to developer INGAME Studios, this upcoming co-op Steam title is bringing something entirely fresh to the table.
There’s nothing quite like a fun co-op game, especially one that is bound to strain friendships with hectic gameplay. Steam is filled with excellent co-op games to play with friends, and Mayhem À La Carte looks like it’s going to be one of the most interesting to date.
Mayhem À La Carte is Overcooked But With Guns
Mayhem À La Carte was recently announced for a Steam Early Access release in 2027. The reveal trailer looks like absolute co-op carnage, with 1-4 players tasked with preparing delicious meals in classic Overcooked fashion, while defending their kitchen from waves of enemies in classic COD fast-paced FPS chaos. Like Overcooked, players must split the cooking responsibilities between one another, communicating to keep the kitchen running, even when under fire from assault rifles. It’s definitely a novel concept, and it seems to nail the execution.
Mayhem À La Carte doesn’t just do the bare minimum with its fun concept. It expands it further, blending the cooking with the combat. Everything is a weapon, including the ingredients. Burnt meals are explosive when thrown, while frozen items will stop enemies in their tracks. It embraces its goofy nature, with unique enemy effects such as shrinking and slipping over. It even has comic book-style onomatopoeia popping up on the screen, giving Mayhem À La Carte some extra style points.
Cook, fight, and serve under pressure in this chaotic 4-player co-op first-person cooking shooter. Prepare delicious meals, defend your kitchen from relentless enemies, and keep the orders flowing before everything falls apart.
Mayhem À La Carte Key Features
- 1-4 player co-op gameplay
- Manage a restaurant and cook meals while under attack
- Hectic first-person shooter combat
- Use ingredients as weapons in combat
- Unique environmental effects when throwing ingredients

The game is not INGAME Studios’ first foray into co-op gameplay. Its previous game, Crime Boss: Rockay City, was released in 2024, and like Mayhem À La Carte, it was also a 1-4 player co-op shooter, although it didn’t quite have as unique a premise as its upcoming title. That game enjoyed “Mostly Positive” reviews from Steam players, so assuming the developer can improve its recipe for its next title, Mayhem À La Carte is shaping up to be a real treat.
According to INGAME Studios, Mayhem À La Carte‘s Early Access version in 2027 will start off by giving players just a small slice of what to expect from the full release, with four to five hours’ worth of content initially. The intention is to add features based on community feedback, focusing on what players enjoy most. The developer plans to be in Early Access for “a minimum of 6 months,” and says it wants to double the amount of content in the game at full release. If it’s anything like Overcooked, it’s going to be one of the best games guaranteed to ruin friendships, and it’ll be a total blast.
