Ghost Recon Wildlands players hoping for new content are seemingly in luck, as August 6 will seemingly bring two major additions to the open-world shooter. First, there will be a free DLC mission for players to enjoy, but even more importantly, for those planning to stick with Ghost Recon Wildlands long-term, there will be a next-gen update.
The free DLC mission will put a “darker” spin on Bolivia and tasks players with onced again hunting La Llorona. They’ll be doing so in a much more visually appealing version of the game, as an update providing faster load times, 60 FPS, and 4K graphics will be dropping alongside the new mission. This, too, will be free, and it’s said to bring both quality-of-life updates and new cosmetics alongside some PS5-exclusive features. Said features are tied to haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and 3D Audio. With the source for this leak being an updated PlayStation Store page that was pushed live too early, fans of this Tom Clancy franchise have little reason to doubt the leak’s legitimacy.
To celebrate the free mission and next-gen update, Ghost Recon Wildlands will be free-to-play from August 6 to August 10. Progress will be kept if players choose to purchase the full version from the PlayStation Store and Xbox Marketplace.
