The next mainline God of War game featuring Kratos has officially been confirmed by Santa Monica Studio head of creative Cory Barlog. It’s expected to arrive after the upcoming God of War Laufey, bringing back the iconic character after a short hiatus.
Next God of War Kratos Game Coming After Laufey
Speaking at the God of War Laufey panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, head of creative at Santa Monica Studio revealed that the next Kratos-led God of War game is officially in development. “I was actually talking to the director of the next Kratos game earlier this week about all the different things that are going… oh ****, did I just announce the next Kratos game? Okay, code of silence, people. I need everybody to just forget that you heard that, Kratos is in another game immediately after this, it directly connects to the events of Laufey.”
